I don't care how many moves they make, I care that they make good ones.
Couldn't agree more. A couple of smart moves would be fine.

Yup, the jets really need to make 0 changes to their top 6F or top 4D. That's better than many teams. Pick up a veteran backup and a depth d and I'll be happy.
The main change I hope to see next year is to figure out the 3rd line. What is it going to be? A defensive shutdown line that plays against the opponents top line or a 3rd offensive line? I don't really care either way as long as they execute it.
I'd like a third line with Perreault and Armia on the wings.
Top six...
Ehlers--Scheifele-Laine
Connor-Little-Wheeler
That should give the Jets depth and balance up front.
4th line a mix of Copp, Petan, Roslovic, Dano, etc.

. Connor needs to be eased in over a couple of years into top 6. He needs easier match ups he needs to be on 3rd line.
This line up gets a lottery pick again. Connor needs to be eased in over a couple of years into top 6. He needs easier match ups he needs to be on 3rd line. Roslovic will need 1 more year on the moose to many young players on this team to expect 2 more rookies to break in. And i dont know how anybody that watched how the year ended think Petan and dano will be starting the year here. Its not realistic to think we can field 23 positions in house. with all the money coming off the books a couple of 4th line depth players on 1 or 2 year contracts is the way to go.

I disagree. That forward line-up is fine. Connor is really good, and paired with vets like Little and Wheeler he'll be productive. That group of 4th liners are ready enough. Maybe slot Matthias in. He'd be better than a lot if free agent options willing to come for a year or two.
I'll take that bet. We make the playoffs with Mo next year.
The Jets have 3 clear holes in their lineup: legit starter in net, 3C, and a 2nd pairing LHD.
I expect Chevy will settle for a backup tender who will split time with Helle and ignore addressing the other two.

What's wrong with our options at 3C?
I'm not happy with the way Maurice has constructed and used our 3rd and 4th lines but I don't see the problem as a lack of the personnel for the job.
I would prefer to get a 2LD with a future with the Jets but a solid upgrade on the 3rd pair could do wonders. I think Toby and Buff are probably still good together.
Still, it is nice to dream. Pencil in:
Bernier
Bonino
Smith
I think that would be a lineup that could compete with the best.

Me too.
Top pairing defenceman? What don't you aim a little higher?
I'd be happy with Raanta. The only thing that gives me pause is the fact that the Blackhawks had an opportunity to put his name on the cup and didn't.
Why? Who did he **** off?
This is the correct answer.
I don't like your bottom 6 Whileee. It isn't about Connor. It is about what kinds of lines we should have at 3 & 4.
Connor/MP - Petan/Roslovic - Armia can make up a good 3rd line that can score.
Copp/Matthias - Lowry/Copp - Matthias/Dano can make a good 4th line that can actually play 8-10 min ar 5v5. It will even score a few goals.
One of those players has to go to VGK but there are enough options there to fill the space fairly seamlessly.
Connor and Perreault can be swapped whenever the time comes.
You just named 3 guys I don't want on the Jets. Bonino disgusts me with his soccer-worthy antics, sounds like Smith is a pylon and as for Bernier...
I expect a lot of action, but it coming via trading forward prospects.
There's not enough room on the Moose for everyone. Fully expect 2-4 players being moved for a LSD & a UFA signing at goal.
