Worst Plus/Minus Ratings In a Single Game?

Hey, if you’re on a list with Joe Sakic, Doug Harvey, Mark Messier, Tim Horton and Joe Sakic you’re doing good!

Damn there’s a lot of good hawks on that list at -7.

Edit: Dec 11th 1985 YIKES

I guess that oilers team might have been pretty good.

Oh cool @Fenway made a thread about the game.

What are the worst plus/minus ratings in single games you can think of for individual players?

Matthews' -6 tonight against the Hurricanes has to be tough to beat for a star player.
Mitch Marner tied the -6 in the very same game. I assume that justifies similar salary, right?

I honestly expected more sharks from that 13-1 debacle vs Calgary. Wasn’t Fleury like a +9?

The whole top leaf line was minus 17 versus Carolina

Marner -6
Matthews -6
Knies -5

Carolina dominates the leafs the last few years. Bad news since the leafs are favs for the cup.

The real question is how he, a “Selke center”, would achieve this playing next to the “best defensive forward in the NHL, Marner”.

Not the worst but Brett Lebda was -3 in a 9-3 win.

That's actually more impressive in the worst way possible. It's easy to rack up minuses if the team is having a terrible night, but to not get a single plus in nine goals but still be on for the only three opposing goals scored is insane.

Lidstrom has had some bad ones as well, it happens

Like when? I'm genuinely curious.

According to that spreadsheet he's not a member of the -6 club and while I didn't parse thru his entire career I didn't see anything higher than the single -4.

Ron Murphy and Floyd Smith "-3" in 10-3 Win (DET 10 VS BOS 3)

Jack Valiquette and Dave Williams and Pat Boutette and Claire Alexander and Rod Seiling "-3" in 11-4 WIN (TOR 11 VS BOS 4)

I would have thought that Minnesota beating Winnipeg 15-2 in 1981 would have some candidates but -5 for Paul Mac Lean and Norm Dupont was the worst. Team effort, and special teams.
