That was definitely interference. Not sure what people are missing while watching that play.
...Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgement of the Referee(s), but may be subject to a Coach’s Challenge (see Rule 78.7).
For purposes of this rule, “contact,” whether incidental or otherwise, shall mean any contact that is made between or among a goalkeeper and attacking player(s), whether by means of a stick or any part of the body.
The overriding rationale of this rule is that a goalkeeper should have the ability to move freely within his goal crease without being hindered by the actions of an attacking player. If an attacking player enters the goal crease and, by his actions, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to defend his goal, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed...
I'm gonna say it's like 85-90% true.not true. Rules should be changed if they result in this garbage anyway
He's never going to get a call his way again.View attachment 94391 McDavid motioning to the ref to ask if he wanted to review his SO winner was ****ing gold.

He's never going to get a call his way again.
Here's the scenario in April:
After making a late season charge, the Oilers sit tied with the Flames for the 3rd spot in the Pacific with 98 points. Oilers have 40 ROW, Flames have 41 ROW. Oilers miss the playoffs...and win the draft lottery.
He doesn't get nearly as many this season, as he is now a "star" who has won the scoring title. Unfortunately that's the way it works in the NHL and there are players who get get even worse treatment. He doesn't anyway.
Matthews and McDavid BOTH letting the refs have it for crap GI in less than a week sure looks great on the league. I love it in this case.View attachment 94391 McDavid motioning to the ref to ask if he wanted to review his SO winner was ****ing gold.
I wonder if Matthews got a penalty as wellMatthews and McDavid BOTH letting the refs have it for crap GI in less than a week sure looks great on the league. I love it in this case.
I can't tell if this is a joke or not.He got a penalty for it as well.."Connor McDavid (Unsportsmanlike Conduct (Abuse of Officials) - 10 min)"
he went from drawing .6 penalties per game to .4 penalties per game in a season where they're supposedly cracking down on stickwork. that's a difference of like 20 penalties over the season I believe. Refs are definitely screwing him overHe never gets a call his way anyway.
