Worst Fighters of All Time

Man, I thought you guys were talking about Chris Kotsopoulos for a second. Because then I'd disagree. Tom Kostopoulos, though, sucks.

I'd probably have to say Riley Cote. He is tough (maybe the toughest guy in the league, pound for pound) and goes out there and will drop 'em with anyone, but he doesn't always win. In fact he rarely wins. But he always gets the team energized, he is just under sized. Worst fighter of all time, whose role it is isn't to fight...

'Nuff said.

I'm talking about guys whose role was to fight. They did it regularly and regularly lost. Keith Magnuson who played for the Chicago Blackhawks from 1969-1980 gets my vote. Every off season he'd take some kind of lessons (boxing, karate, judo, etc.) or fitness program to improve his fighting ability, and continue to get whupped. He was a very gritty and willing combatant that could never seem to win a fight.

He was my dads favorite player. Said he would do anything for his teammates and not worry about his own safety.

Jim Kyte may not have been the worst, but man, there are a lot of clips with him just getting destroyed.

Jim Kyte was as tough as nails but he did have a few very bad losses. Kocur and Ray both KO'd him badly and Dave Brown beat him pretty good a couple times but he certainly didn't lose very many.

Aaron Voros or Ryan Hollweg has my vote. I'm young and haven't seen much compared to some of the older ones, but they suck! They just suck at fightning.

Voros is slow. Slow punches and slow dodges. lol His arms are like two feet long anyway...

Hollweg just leaves his face open the whole fight Seems like he always hits his opponent's shoulders when he "lands" his punches. The only fight I've think he won was when he fought Ryan Carter in 2008... :handclap:

lmao.... Oh, jeez... hahaha I get a kick out of that fight. Semin punches like my sister. Seriously.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jeff Cowan yet, another one of those guys who was ready and willing to go with anyone but was really only a punching bag.

I remember as a kid thinking that Basil McCrae seemed to lose just about every time I saw him fight.

Haha. I'd have to come in and lay the smack down in this thread.

Also, while on the subject... I'm sick of random people asking if I'm related to Tom Kostopoulos... the name isn't even spelled the same!

I remember as a kid thinking that Basil McCrae seemed to lose just about every time I saw him fight.

From what my Dad said, Basil used to lose a TON early on in his career. Then randomly from all the beatings he became a pretty solid fighter.

As far as some modern day stuff, I'd have to agree with Cote. He seems to be a punching bag for everyone aside from the select few mentioned in the thread.

He's built like my sister too, unless he gained some weight recently. Love the girly "pummeling" though hahaha wow that's embarassing.

People always say Shelley's one of the crappier fighters, whatcha guys think? Even worth mentioning? I think his %'s are actually decent if i remember correctly.

Andreas Lilja, guy should of never dropped the gloves with Shea Weber, he beat the piss out of him and unfortuantly he's still paying the price to this day. I will give him the victory over Patrick Sharpe though, if that can be considered a victory, lol.
