Malik was by far the best Czech in the game. Says it all really, though Mysak and Blaha had some good moments.
Czechs looked very slow in the 1st and 2nd period, but in the 3rd they took it to a whole new level. Looked like they gave up, no hustle, nothing.
Good thing I didn’t watch the game. I’m sure they’ll bounce back though. Too much talent on the team. They always struggle against USA too.

Good start for Finland vs Russia. No goals yet but some nice puck movement. Järventie looks good. 10 minutes to go in the first.

2-1 win for Finland. Hirvonen and Karnaranta scored for Finland, Didkovskiy for Russia.

Best players : Khusnutdinov, Grushnikov and Kuznetsov for Russia. Väyrynen, Rafkin, Järventie and Hirvonen for Finland.

Goals:

1-0:

1-1:

2-1:

That Khusnutdinov rush at the end was incredible. I thought he scored what would've certainly been the goal of the tournament.

The Czech player picking the puck up with his stick so he could give it to the ref just to fumble it and drop it at the refs feet was something else.

You can tell Mysak has some talent. Only glimpses so far though.
Tries to do everything all alone. He is legit though.

Much better showing from the Czech team so far.

EDIT: Czech powerplay remains to be awful.

I feel like a few has shown glimpses but nobody has really stood out this game. Shoutout to the Czech net which the Canadians love to knock off its position.

Unfortunate way to lose, but a day and night in comparison to that disaster against the USA. That Machacek guy looks real good, should get bumbed up in the lineup. Never even heard of him before this tournament, but today he has been the 2nd best Czech forward after Mysak. Novak, Gut and Chlubna need to pick it up.

Any players to keep an eye on in Canada Red? The names I recognize are Evan Vierling, Seth Jarvis and Kaiden Guhle.

Beauty goals by Raymond. Holtz need to step up. Lots of sloppy plays.

Like what I'm seeing from Nybeck, Grans and Johannesson.

Agree, but also lots of sloppy plays and bad decision making from the Swedish defenders. Results in forwards having to chase pucks all the time. Grans and Johannesson ok as you say, perhaps also Kumlin, the rest not up to par, a few almost playing for Canada....

Some line compositions not finding chemistry? Wrong centers between the forward pairs? Only Hallén of the centers is doing ok. Why isn't Sohrner playing? Why isn't Eklund even on the team?

Sweden will likely win this one anyway, but play is looking way worse than I hoped for with this squad.

Edit: ....and then he strikes. 3-2.

Agree, defense has been a horror story at times. Nordlund and Andrae in particular are having major issues.

This USA team isn't good enough to overcome 3 PP goals as they're not an offensive powerhouse. This replacement goalie (Purcell) hasn't been good either, while Cossa for Canada White has been really steady.
