It's back and I'm excited!

Here is the Czech roster. I don't get familiar with Czechs till U18 but HF has a prospects section and a nice little fight broke out there on the Dominik Badinka thread (I think) and now I'm really excited to see Tomas Galvas! Roster looks good and I think we should be competitve.

Team Canada roster(2) were posted in a seperate thread.. shockingly, they look really strong!

This tourney is stacked, as much as I like my Czech team... we are in tough! No easy games at all. Should be a good one to watch. Hopefully some streams as TSN, I think, only shows Bronze and Gold.

Looking at Czech squad, I feel like we're sending near our best. Anti or Wooren would know better though.

How about the Swede squad? Top squad for age group?
I don't think we're missing anyone really important based on the nomination. It is perhaps the strongest Czech vintage on paper since at least 1999, and I hope it is even better. In addition to those mentioned, I am also looking forward to at least other players such as Král, Titlbach, Klíma, Drančák, Kos. Jecho is playing for the first time with his year, but for me the most interesting players are Galvas and Benák.

Is this a similar squad to the one that did very well in Colorado this summer? Feels like a strong group. Very tough tourney but I hope we can be competitive

There are only a few changes in the lineup. As you write, it should be a competitive team.

Which color is your fav?
I‘ll be cheering for team Red since they have some of my favourite prospects of that age group in Misa (underage for this tournament), D’Aigle and Cristoforo.

Team Black is probably the best on paper however.
Jordan Gavin
Mlcolm Spence
Macklin Celebrini
Justin Poirier
Clarke Caswell
Sam Dickinson
Tomas Lavoie
Matt Virgillio
on one team just isn’t fair.

Curious if Finn's and US are sending stacked rosters? This might be an exceptional tournament.

Swedish rosters never include underagers at this level so it’s more accurate calling it a 06 team rather than U17. There are a few 2007 forwards who would make this team stronger.

Sterner-Zetterberg-Sigrell
Davidsson-Sandberg-Fernström
Olofsson-Eriksson-Eklund
Nordlund-Toresson-Pettersson

Olsson-Gustafsson
Stadin-Freij
Peters-Bodin.

Tsn will broadcast, atleast some games so i hope svenskhockey will have the streaming rights for Swedens games. Many in the roster has j20 experience and have done it well, especially Zetterberg with 17 points in 18 games.

I don't know what's up with Galvas, he wasn't anywhere in the lineups this weekend.. I hope he'll be okay, this team needs him, though he'd be good without him. But it will definitely be better with him.

I'm very excited to see this team... moreso than the U20 team for instance.

Starts Thursday... looks like they will have video links. They do for the first few games.

TSN will carry the bronze and gold games.

For me, Bronze is gold so hoping my Czechs can somehow get into final 4.

I noticed we beat the US for the prestigous 7th place last time with Mysak getting 2 points. Malik with 38 saves.

Don't you put that evil on me, Galvas is literally the number one reason to watch this team. Hopefully he just took time off early to get ready for the tournament...? :help:

In all seriousness, team should be solid even without him as you said, but no other player can tilt the ice as much as him. Benak is not far off, but as undersized underager it would be unfair to expect him to.

Yeah, for me he's the most important player in the team and he's a difference player. I would be really disappointed if he was the one to miss the tournament. Anyway, if he was healthy, he would definitely be playing this weekend. So hopefully he'll be fine and it's nothing serious.. At least one good news. Adam Benák has grown three centimeters for us at hokej.cz and is "already" 170cm..:D
