Right. Everything the Blues have said or released has suggested to me they had Jiricek higher on their board than Buium. I don’t agree with that and really didn’t agree with that back in June but that’s my gut feeling. It could be wrong and I’ll never be able to prove it definitively unless for some reason the Blues confirm it but I doubt they ever will.
same gut feeling

Thank you to all for your observations and comments on the Blues’ prospects at the WJC.

Things look promising, but some expectations have been tempered. That’s good.

I can’t read too much into our Slovaks because the team was bad and the coaching questionable. I want to see Dvo start to dominate the AHL.

Stancl has exceeded my expectations, but, at the same time, I had fairly high expectations for him after his draft. He has the "it" factor, just like I saw in Toropchenko and Neighbours early on. Pekarcik has the "it" factor.

If one of the Russians that Stealth mentioned turns into a home run, then he can replace whomever is necessary on the roster. If the Blues get lucky with their very own Kaprisov, then he will 100% take someone's place. And that someone will be moved around or moved out.

I think Buium was DA's target, but it didn't work out. Zeev's pass on the OT Gold winner was sick. I've read some talk on here that Buium is smallish, but he's 6'0", 185lbs with a good frame. He may not add an inch, but he will add at least 5-10 more playing pounds. That's good enough for someone who has the skating and on-ice awareness of Buium. The Wild got a future great one in Z. Buium.

We got Jiricek. Jury is out, but watching him skate with the puck is mesmerizing.
