Dvorsky and Pekarcik are 1 and 2 for most time on ice among forwards in the tournament. I expect they will both probably play 25+ against Finland
Not surprising. Glad they're getting this good experience. Stenberg and Lindstein and Stancl looked good in today's game. I hope to watch Slovakia play in their remaining games,.

Really liking Jiricek. He is still on the younger side for this tourney and hasn’t played hardly at all over the past year, but the talent is tantalizing. He has the raw skill but also he seems to think the game at a level above most other young D. A bit more strength and extra half step that comes with it.. If he can stay healthy, he could develop into 1D we dream of.

And he is an RHD.

Lot of bright spots this tournament for Blues fans, but Adam Jecho has been a bit disappointing for me. Not very noticeable in the Czechia games I’ve watched.

He is certainly the least noticeable of our Czechs. He is one of younger guys on that team and hasn't played much, so not shocking. But he has had a couple beautiful assists, including against Swedes last game., so enough that I remain intrigued. I think bigger test for him will be can he earn prime role next year and what will he do with it.

Pekarcik is no longer on the first line. Slovak Coach is an absolute clown.
I can see why the coach would want to try it but they just don’t have the depth either way. They’re the 6th best team here. The worst of the good teams or the best of the bad teams. Whichever way you want to slice it.

I’d guess the Slovaks view their win condition is a low scoring game.

If they can spread the Finn’s coverage they may have a better shot at the low scoring game they want (or perhaps an outperform case where they get surprise secondary scoring)

They’ll still, most likely, overload the top line when the situation calls for it. Perhaps it is a nice thing that they can deploy it when they feel it can cause big problems and catch the opponent without the proper defenses. They’ll maybe get more juice if they squeeze it like this versus having it face premium coverage the entire game.

Big long day of meaningful hockey for 9 of the best Blues prospects who aren't Lukas Fischer, Tomas Mrsic or Quinton Burns. If somehow all 4 teams won (the Finns and Canada will likely knock out 6 guys today) it's possible to have all 9 in the semifinals

Latvia got screwed on that first goal. However they might not get a shot in this game until the third period. They might end this game with under 10 shots. This is not a competitive game

shots are officially 18-3 after 1 and the first of those 3 was a sympathy SOG since it merely came near the net. Also didn't count a Lindstein shot from center ice, more like 19-2 in shots

edit haha they noticed & took it away

primary assist for Stenberg. Latvia took a penalty then halfway through it they had too many men on the ice. then they held Sweden shotless on the whole PP and Swedes scored right after. But they are challenging Stenberg's point for offside ...

... it's offside. I thought it was in real time too. oh well. half the game still to go!
