InferiorBut how's their potassium game??
The bolded was understood as the point of your post but you're guessing from stat comparables and not watching him with Kelowna. And he plays like this for Kelowna too. He's 6'5" good skater and has great hands around the net. He makes himself available as an offensive option in a dangerous way, frequently. He attacks with the puck dangerously and can make little plays in tight, he is very consistent in his playstyle. Two other skilled forwards will adore having this player on their line, because he understands what skilled players are trying to do. Real good hockey IQ. Stats against Swiss and Kazakhs are skewed obviously, but what I am saying is he plays identically, so against a much better defense he is still dangerousI don't disagree that he's doing good for a 4th rounder at all. I said he was doing good for a 4th rounder in the first sentence. What I said was compared to average NHLers or above his 19 year old WHL season isn't anything to write home about. I think he was a great pick, but that doesn't mean he's having a world-ending season. The point of my post was that his WJC performances have been much more impressive. I'm not knocking his performance in the WHL as a whole. Like I said for a 4th rounder he has actually been playing above average in the league.
Yeah, I could see Stancl playing center since Kelowna has deployed him there although Stenberg has been used primarily as a winger, if I'm not mistaken. I'm really hoping Bolduc can break out next season, because if not, I'd be looking to trade him for a RHD prospect. It's not clear at all that Stancl and Stenberg are locked into LW and it's one or the other. Stancl in particular I can see playing center.
Stancl and Stenberg are going to be better than Snuggles, Kaskimaki and Pekarcik IMO. I value Stenberg more than Bolduc.
Walkover opponent but a hat trick for Stancl as I type this
You mean like the way X is blowing up over Hagens being the next hockey god because he has some points playing with two future NHLers against lesser teams? ….hahaWhen a team scores 14 goals against a weak team like Kazakhstan, it will create misleading numbers. In the future, people will be impressed by Stancl's WJC numbers and not realize half of them came in a blowout vs Kazakhstan.

How did Canada do against Latvia? You mean like the way X is blowing up over Hagens being the next hockey god because he has some points playing with two future NHLers against lesser teams? ….haha
Im holding out hope Jiricek can atleast bring some value to our team in the future, especially since he's a RHD. Still plenty of time for a defenseman to develop and grow. Gotta be patient w/these kids. You can really see the bones of the Parayko comparable with Ralph. The way he closed onto the speedy wing rush using his feet and stick a minute ago. He needs time the way Parayko needed.
Jiricek instead of Buium is a horrible result for us
I'm not saying he's a bust or that he's out of time, I just think Buium is levels better than him and getting Buium was in our hands for a moment at the draft. They made a real time judgment that the price to move up was too pricey given their assessments of each player. looked highly questionable then and even more so nowIm holding out hope Jiricek can atleast bring some value to our team in the future, especially since he's a RHD. Stancl is 6’5 now?
Trust me i agree, i wanted Dickinson all along and i woulda taken that Buffalo swap in a heartbeat if our pick was a couple spots higher. Still upset we missed on him and then Buium as well. 2 more losses and we were there for the trading spot.I'm not saying he's a bust or that he's out of time, I just think Buium is levels better than him and getting Buium was in our hands for a moment at the draft. As much as i like Lindstein/Jiricek i just dont see the elite offensive upside to their games to become true top pairing.
We need one more all around stud defenseman to go with Broberg, Parayko, Lindstein. Then we will be cooking with gasWhat about Broberg?

Nelson is a very nice playstyle comp.To add to the Stancl discussion:
Taller players tend to take a little longer to peak and I see that with Stancl. So his WHL stats are fine I think.
I like the Handzus comparison. But the guy he really reminds me a lot of is Brock Nelson. They both just play a very pro game. Brock Nelson also took a while to peak with NYI. Both have great sneaky shots that are underrated. Both have great hands in tight.
I do see some #2 Center upside with Stancl. Like others have said, if he can slightly improve his skating he can be something special. The rest of his game is very good..,
I am also against the idea of having a sheltered offensive-defenseman in the top 4, but based on your previous posts, you seem attached to the idea of having that super elite defenseman lead the backend. Obviously that would be ideal, but they don't exactly grow on trees. Clearly, Makar and Quinn Hughes are the best in the league right now, but would someone like Jaccob Slavin, Aaron Ekblad, or Miro Heiskanen fit that criteria in your mind?Sheltering a #4/5 offensive dman is an approach I can't stand. We need the stud defenseman to also be the top minutes player and the top point producer, this is not negotiable
