World Juniors 2024-25

Hard to believe BU is ranked 15th with Willander and Hutson anchoring their D. Hutson’s vision is really impressive.

Finland plays such a good team game. Great pace, good passing, good positioning, and the puck is on and off the stick so quickly.

Not the most exciting team and I would def not say they play with great pace but they are consistently a sum of their parts team and they know how to capitalize on mistakes.

After the U18 last year I was considering putting him out there as an option for us at 16th overall. Looks like it wouldn't have been a crazy suggestion.

Absolute, complete US domination in OT. Finland looked lost with two players facing one forechecker, and only their goalie kept them in it.

The Finns had no business getting past Sweden, they dove past them, so as long as they didn't win. What a game, what a tournament

Stancl got named to the All Tourney team. Nice.
He was their best player. Not Sale who was genuinely dynamic offensively but less productive and defensively more a liability. A lot of the chances against came against the Sale line. I was constantly worried when they were getting pressed, is this a Blues player at risk on the defending side? Nope, it would be the Sale line

USA! USA!

Awesome tournament. Pretty much everything I wanted to see outside of Slovakia making the medal round on the back of Dvorsky. The Blues prospects we VERY impactful for the second WJC in a row.

Tony Feltrin seems to be doing an excellent job. Excited to see some of these kids in the Note in the next couple of seasons.

Buium is gonna be a stud too. Ugh, still wish we got him.
Keep in mind that drafting Buium probably means trading Lindstein because of Broberg. I don't think having all 3 of those guys on the left side is great asset management.

Not that impressive from what I saw. He's clearly 3rd pair guy on that talented roster
I'm honestly lukewarm about Ralph. Maybe he turns out to be a nice shutdown defender who can take on tough assignments and play on the PK, but I also think Lukas Fischer is more comfortable transitioning the puck up the ice and has more upside.
