Agreed. Hard to pass on Rodion's skill and skating.
Guhle and Schneider were both expected to go between 24-28. Rodion was expected to go 17th.
That's a big gap and imo I would always go BPA for that.
The World Juniors is just a tournament. I dont get too hyped up over prospects but I won't lie, its great to see Leafs prospects doing good on teams (Russia/Finland), especially when Dubas traded back to get some of those players.
Yeah we're not saying it to be mean to Schneider. It's just that he's a guy who doesn't have any standout tools aside from physicality and doesn't have elite hockey IQ to make up for it. He could still be like a #4 but I don't expect anything more than that.thought he meant he knows exactly how these picks are going to work out based at this current time, my bad... I see what u are saying and u are right.
No doubt, he's got a good shot when the goalie is missing his stick.Yeah we're not saying it to be mean to Schneider. f***ing Zegras. So good.
Zegras is having a tourney....
Bob Mac just called him a duel threat. What does Bobby Mac know that you don’t ehYou make educated guesses based on skillset and performance. Schneider does not have the skillset and track record you want in a top 15 pick.
lmao. That's a tough choice though. Broberg might still be something although Zegras is already impressing.Don't tell that to Oilers fans. The idea Zegras could have been an Oiler playing with McDavid and Drai
the link you provided me based there rankings on a large number of mocks , they had Zary 15 , Amirov 17 , Guhle 20 , Schneider 21 to name a few around our pick and they went 24-15-16-19 which is roughly where they were supposed to go outside of Zary who dropped a little so this idea that taking one of the D at 15 was some type of reach pick is absurdPretty much game over now.
Look, I’d love a guy like Schneider in the org. But you don’t pick him with #15. It’s been suggested that Dubas tried to trade back with the #15. But he couldn’t find a suitor, or the right value. Maybe he wanted to move back to 20-21 to grab Schneider, but they couldn’t get value and pick the consensus better player. Schneider seems to be a consensus low 20’s pick, and that’s where he went. Amirov was consensus 15 and that’s where he went. It would of course be nice if we had more diversity in the system, and hopefully that is addressed at some point. As much as all these draft picks have great skill, we have more skill players than we will ever have spots for. They can be used as currency to draft that size and toughness.

Dmen definitely take longer though.
Who would you take? Broberg or Zegras?
Kinda happy the Americans are winning. A Canada-USA final gets the juices flowing more then Canada-Finland.
That's true...We already smacked them around well enough that I am satisfied for another year. Dominating wins over Finland,Russia and the US sounds like a good time to me.Tend not to love Finnish fans, so I’d actually prefer to dummy Finland. If it’s a tight game though I’d prefer USA.
Lmao. Can't blame them for being loyal and loving their homegrown talent but I know what you mean. Laine > Matthews? Get outttta here. Barkov > Matthews? Get outtttaa here.Tend not to love Finnish fans, so I’d actually prefer to dummy Finland. If it’s a tight game though I’d prefer USA.
Sorry Finnish Leaf fans![]()
