One of the most boring world juniors I can remember.

Lots of D schemes with little in the way of dynamic offensive plays.

It's the way teams can win with lesser talent, but it seems like it was missing all over.
There was not one electric player in this entire tournament.

Mckenna could have been.

Leonard I guess but he was drafted two years ago so he should be the best player there.

No one got you out of your seat

Leonard and Hutson are so good. Caps are gonna be good forever.
Leonard can't stay on his skates and looks to the refs every time he is touched. From what I recall that is embarrassing and I hope Gallagher holds a presser to let him know.

I mean Stützle did that too up until this year. I don’t really care about teenagers being whiney, for the most part they grow out of it.

At least the americans have a good goal song
Very weird Gold Medal game to me! Finland dominated the 1st half of the game and the Americans dominated the 2nd half. It was rather black and white in that respect, as if it was two completely different games within a game. Not talking about a slight power shift, but domination by both. So strange.

Then came overtime and it was again very strange. I get the distinct impression that nobody ever bothered to explain to the Finns that it is not particularly productive (being very polite) to stand beside one's teammates for most of the 3-on-3! Amazing how much they did that making themselves very easy to check. Holy crap guys, spread the EFF out! Worse, at least 2-3 great Finn rushes culminated in terrible fanned on shots. Pretty tough to win games with that poor an OT performance. It was pretty well a sure thing, only a matter of time before the US finally beat an awesome Finn goalie who had been standing on his head for them.

Tough to criticize either team considering the totality of play... To their credit, both made it to the big dance! Some wonderful skills were seen on both teams. Awesome goal-tending observed in the overall tourney for sure.

World Juniors Hockey is so good, often my favourite hockey of the year. I love it! (most years anyway)

no guarantees. Check out the last 20 years. A star at the WJC does not guarantee you anything... Hello; Curtis Lazar, Collin White, Thomas Chabot, Jonathan Dahlin, Alex Formenton, JBD, Roby Jarventie.. you can add Englund, Hogberg, Sogaard, Merilainen and a few others.

all had excellent WJCs. All played 6 or 7 games. Meaning they reached the finals or the bronze medal game. All put up points, or where stellar on D or in goal.

Only time will tell. The tournament is not as indicative of teh future as it once was.

The videos with Tkachuk and the others watching, celebrating the US win was cool. Ottawa is a young emotional team trying to make the playoffs so any chance for anyone on the roster to get a mental break and feel good about themselves and something they care about is a win in my book.

Out of all the players mentioned only Chabot “starred” in the tourney.

Congrats to USA and it was nice seeing Tkachuk, Norris and Sandy cheering the team, but friggin hell is it frustrating to see our neighbours down south win back to back golds.

Edit:Just saw this on Reddit and it was pretty wholesome. RIP Gaudreau, hope you're watching down on the lads and smiling
