Too much perimeter play by Canada, bad shot decisions, and way too many passes.
too many fancy dans, but Canada really needs some scorers.

Agreed. Good first shift there. Pucks to the net. It's pretty clear they were told to shoot.

2-1 Canada. Nice play by Marner.

Normally he cant.
That said... It's Denmark, he should be scoring.

Except his shot is really good, as you hopefully just saw, he just prefers to pass, which maybe you also saw on his assist earlier in the game. Elite offensive player. Had a goal against USA as well.

No. I'm saying players that don't score much at the junior level don't score much at the NHL level.

His shot is easily good enough to pot him 10-15 goals every year in the NHL, which is enough for a playmaker such as Barzal. Thornton had 11 goals one year where he still managed to get 76 points. Bäckström had 14 goals in a season where he had 69 points. You don't need to score 20+ goals to be a good player in the NHL.

In junior Thornton's lowest goal scoring season was 30.

If you can't even put up 20 goals in the chl putting up 10-15 will be very hard in the NHL.

If it was such a big deal as you are making it out to be he would've never been ranked in the 1st round, let alone top10 where many scouts had him. Guess they are incompetent, all they needed to do was look at a stats sheet and see he wasn't going to be a good NHLer.

I don't see a thread to talk about the World Juniors. Not sure if there was a previous post against this, so sorry if that's the case.

So, if this isn't locked/moved - Danes and Canada tied at 1 -1.

Don't think they'll win gold this year. This team isn't the same as last year and some poor choices made for the roster. Quenneville really? No Josh Ho-sang!?!

who cares? In the NHL he'll be a perimeter player usually

On the other hand none of the other teams are really that strong this year either. It's pretty even between Canada, Russia, USA, Sweden and Finland. Even the czechs have a good shot, partiuclarly now with Pastrnak coming.

A perimeter player who can't score to save his life, is small and injury prone. What a total bum eh? Can't believe Isles were stupid enough to draft him in the 1st round :biglaugh:
