Since Mkoll beat me. I'll edit.

Anybody want to bet Giroux doesn't make it? Only has lead the NHL in pts the last 5 years.

I'm tweeting Grant McCagg about who's actually playing.

Basically the players involved have to be on NHL teams or NHL property? He was mentioning Laine not named yet. But technically Laine isn't an NHL player or part of an NHL team. Once drafted, he can be added?

I'm kind of confused by this.

I guess I'm wrong. I thought this thing was put together by the NHL and NHLPA?

If so, why the hell are they promoting players not on NHL teams?

Already assumed he wouldnt be. They have something against him. Makes cheering against Canada much easier for me!

When Button said who the guys from TSN came up with, Giroux was not part of the 1st 16 guys listed. Neither was Tavares

But both were listed on the final roster. Tavares they had as the 13th forward. Giroux they had as the 2nd line RW.

I don't expect he makes the first 16...and honestly...would not be shocked if he was left off.

Ghost was listed on the under 23 team...but Couts was not...again...just the team that TSN picked...not the real one.

I mean, he's only led the league in points the past 5 years, is excellent defensively, a beast on faceoffs and great on the penalty kill..

If he was on any other team he would be a lock.

Undoubtedly the top 3 centres for Team Canada should be Crosby Toews and Giroux.

If you want to make the argument (which I wouldn't agree with), he should be there for his versatility, faceoff strengths and PK ability.

It's unfathomable that he isn't named to this team.

The part that annoys me the most (much like the olympics) is that Canada will probably win the tournament regardless if they snub a player or two, and no one will bat an eye of the obvious names left off.

And is amongst eligible forwards the:

Highest scoring Canadian in last 6 seasons. (3rd in PPG)
Highest scoring Canadian in last 5 seasons. (2nd in PPG)
3rd Highest scoring Canadian in last 4 seasons. (6th in PPG)
4th Highest scoring Canadian in last 3 seasons. (6th in PPG)
4th Highest scoring Canadian in last 2 seasons. (5th in PPG)
5th Highest scoring Canadian this season. (5th in PPG)

While being the best all-around player of pretty much any of the top ~8 Canadian scorers over each time-span.

That does sum up how obviuos it is that he should be named.

Especially when you add in that he PK's, is great on FO, can play wing, etc..

Canada is so deep with stars he might not make it but it happens. Duchene should be on the team forsure.
