Go younger instead. Many of the players you listed will be 32-35 and have already played many Olympics and World Cup. Needs some fresh legs and some hunger or it will fail with a QF exit due to lack of hunger, speed.

That's an arbitrary reason to leave so much talent at home... 2010 and 2014 did just fine with a higher average age.

Finland will be so much better, because finally we have a normal defence in this tournament.

2020 it will be:

Vatanen, 29years
Jokipakka, 29years
Määttä, 26years
Ristolainen, 25years
Juolevi, 22years
------------ That will be the TOP5
Pokka, 26 years
Lindell, 26 years
Saarijärvi, 23years

Som guys to pick up, not just guys to survive.

I'm seeing way too young of a lineup. Marner?? No. Where is Vlasic on D?

We'll be taking a veteran squad and continuing the Golden Era. Crosby will be the captain through at least until 2022. The Golden Era will keep going. We'll be bringing veteran and experienced squads

We have so much depth that we'll take more guys that are 26-32ish. Not a bunch of kids.

Slightly off topic but haven't really paid attention to the World Cup news but has it been confirmed it will happen every 4 years? It's not just a one time thing and it's not a yearly thing either is it? Thanks.

Way too many assuming a huge pile of changes in the 3 1/2 years until the next Olympics.

Case in point, does anyone really expect the games of Tavares and Crosby to drop off that much in the 3 1/2 years they won't be on Team Canada? Same with Stamkos and a few others for that matter.

Likely-hood is the group from the class of 2003 will start to make way for some fresh blood.

Just off top of my head.

Crosby
McDavid
MacKinnon
Seguin
Benn
Tavares
Stamkos
Toews

Probably are all safe bets to be there.

Frightening but true, if they have another team NA-23, Connor McDavid could be captain again. He'll be 23 then.
