I'm not getting why Canadian NHLers even bother playing at world championships. When Celebrini, Crosby, Thomas, O'Reilly and others can't score 5 or 6 against Norway in a single period it is obvious they are not trying hard. If they do, there is even more critical question regarding their contracts.

Because Hockey Canada holds grudges and gives preferential treatment to those that attend every international tournament.

As a USA hockey fan I have spent years bemoaning how many don't care, I appreciate that Canada has guys that show up.

They are not going to win every time. The big nations mailing in bronze games is a theme of all of them except Finland.

That was nice. Really wierd tournament, 5th WHC for Finland, 3rd final loss (without a single goal scored at final games) for Switzerland and Norway doing their miracle on ice.

I think that's what happens when you add so many stars with nothing to prove in a small tournament, which the WC is in comparison to the Olympics or Stanley Cup playoffs. For Norway, the game was their game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, while for Canada it was a regular season game. One team was playing balls out, blocking shots, sacrifying their bodies, while the other team was trying to stay healthy.

Canada should use some U25 "kid" teams and bring only some 3-4 as Captains.

They still have heck of a talent and motivated as hell.

I'm glad Emmitt Finnie got his shot, that's all I really care about as far as the Canadian National Team is concerned.

Team Norway had a good time on their flight back home. MBN wearing sunglasses was sitting next to Noah Steen (signed by Tampa) and Stian Solberg (signed by Anaheim). They really enjoyed the free drinks
