As always, Team Canada playing against two teams, one Red White and Blue, the other black and white stripes. Just awful refereeing. Also three times already the referee acted as a sixth player to USA getting in Canada's way when they were pressing hard. Embarrassing, but not yet at the level of that Sochi game with NINE penalties in a row against Canada called by an American referee. If they were a bit better they wouldn't need all the help.....

The fact the US gets away with the same stuff? Nurse was slashed just the same, if the referees would call the game the same for both teams there would be no issue.

You can argue that all 3 penalties were fair, but you're completely out to lunch if you think the Americans did not commit at least 1 infraction based on the standard that's been set here.

I'll have to rewind and watch it but it was behind the play so maybe the ref's didn't notice that and all they saw was the player with no stick

They only ever call the retaliator. How many times have you seen that play out the same way in the NHL. I agree it's dumb.

Canadians need to stay calm, the Nurse penalty was obvious and undisciplined, the other ones were not good considering what USA was getting away with. I expect refs to even up the calls, they usually do that in IIHF. Look at the World Juniors, whenever Canada got a lead on anybody, refs would make up random calls to try and make it a close game. IIHF refs are very poor, but that isn't an excuse to slash somebody's stick in the middle of the ice.

We'll get at least a couple goals, just need to stay calm defensively.
