I don’t see how you can come to that conclusion after full review. Dean was committed to the hit and got him on a last-second turn. I don’t see the intent to hit the head in that circumstance, it’s just an awful call.

Mike Johnson is right that in the NHL that would be a clean hit but in IIHF it will be called every time.

Exactly, there was no intent to hit his head. Cech turned into the hit which made it a headshot. 2 minute penalty at best.

But by the letter of rule book that’s a 5 min major

Fantilli doesn't kill penalties so it makes sense. Matthew Tkachuk always sat in the box for Flames team penalties, every single time, and he was our 2nd best player.
