It’s exciting to see Bokk playing well in this tournament. I think a lot of us were starting to put some question marks on him with his production this year. But it’s pretty clear he’s just in a situation right now where he’s not being put in a spot to succeed. Hopefully his ice time starts going up when he goes back to Rogle.

I'm aware of that, yes, but that's part of my point. Guys playing in European leagues may not always be getting the best chance, and Puistola didn't for most of the year. It's nice to see them put up points when they are again put in good situations.
Yeah, Puistola got like 5-7 mins TOI when he played with Tappara. Ridiculous.

If I am not mistaken their 03 and 04 players are pretty good. Don't know if those birth years are outliers or if they are turning it around, but thei U17 and U16 are really good right now.
So maybe it is too early to give up on Slovakian hockey.

Hope so. I can't be the only Finn who feels like the Slovaks are our kindred spirits in the world of hockey.

bokk has been ridiculous. if you pause that first goal at :03 when he was on the 5 on 3, you can see he recognized what he was being given. when you talk about goal scorers and their ability to get lost, this is exactly what you mean. that's how early he recognized that play developing. he knew if it got back to seider (who is *very* impressive) he was going to get a rip at it. that's really high level awareness. you'll also notice how he doesn't crowd the crease and come in close enough for the defenseman to read the pass and break it up with his stick. he spaced himself perfectly. there are guys that would have pushed all the way in there instead of giving themselves room to shoot. elite shooters trust they'll hit that spot no matter how narrow the lane. not to make too much of one play, but he did a lot there between the ears even if it didn't look like it.

Another goal for Puistola, this time against Kazakhstan

Puistola is legit. He has scored on all three games in this tournament. He feels like an early second rounder, a potentially great sniper who needs some seasoning in the FEL/AHL level.

Really impressed with Tulsky and the borg. Being able to snag potential NHLers in the lower rounds is really important, especially when Svech and Dougie extensions kick in.

The Finnish/European setup may be extremely good for developing juniors. It's easy enough to get a push to a higher league if you're too good for your supposed level... first to higher junior league with older guys, and then either to Liiga or Mestis to play with grown-ups, when in Canada you'd by the regulations be a CHL guy for one to three years still.

At least FEL isn't as good as it used to be. This makes it easier for younger guys to break in to the league.

Also from asset management perspective, it's great you can let boom or bust prospects stay in Europe for a while without having to commit to ELC/AHL lineup slot.
