Man the Oilers are really going to regret passing on Wallstedt

Was my immediate reaction at the time of the draft and he’s looked damn good here. Goalies can be voodoo though so who knows?

Bourgault likely makes the team out of camp next year and his stock has only risen. The extra pick the Oilers got was Munzenberger who is looking excellent at this years WJC as Germany’s #1 D.

But yeah, Wallstedt looks like a star right now.

Wallstedt has the mannerisms of a world class goalie.

All the little extra stuff like selling contact, knocking nets off, casual and confident on his glove saves and relaxes his stance early even with the puck in the zone.

Neither of those picks are worth giving away a franchise goalie, which is what Edmonton desperately needs. It was infuriating watching them basically give him to Minnesota, now we have to deal with him in the division for x amount of years.

Slovaks have been good but they dont have the skill to bury 2 quick goals yet. I definitely think it will come with the core group of players they have (04/05) though.

Just need their younger players to physically mature a bit more

Wallstedt was incredible. Slovaks played a great hockey game. Sweden was very mediocre as a whole but have the talent to win a game like this.

Slovakia was a one line team tonight.
Fenes can just F**K OFF. I thought Petrovicky last year was bad but Fenes found a new level of bad. His lines are terrible and his special units beyond tragic.
Myklukha is not going to get drafted no matter how much he tries him on the first line and PP1.

Exactly. I had multiple feelings throughout the years with Slovak hockey but this experience is something completely new.
