Hate that rule, like the way it's done in the NHL way more. As long as you don't kick it in it should always count imo. Don't even know if I would be against them allowing to kick it in. But thats the German in me talking :D
 
TSN announcers at least think it's legal.

I think they just changed the rule recently and removed the language about kicking the puck. Basically, unless it accidentally went off your skate, the goal would be negated.

I firmly believe the rule should be you can kick it in as long as the skate blade stays on the ice...you can kick a puck up and down the damn ice, kicking should be allowed as long as the blade stays on the ice..
 
Not sure I agree with that call. He was just stopping.

I would have agreed if the Russian player didn't eye the puck coming into his feet and move his right skate forward to catch the puck.

He was definitely trying to play the puck off his skate. The problem is it just pinballed straight into the net before he could tap it with the stick.
