I like the fact that he knows about the history. He's very heady.

Also, Andersson threw away his silver, that's some pretty big balls. I really like this kind of winning mentality the Rangers are trying to pickup with their prospects.
He’s also studying to be a hockey coach in university, and he talked about how he doesn’t play video games or anything that would distract him from getting a healthy sleep and being ready to play. Great character and great player

Bought my tickets to this game today. Market is flooding here in Vancouver as it's a 1pm game that Canada was expected to be in so people need to sell their tickets off to recover losses.
Canada wouldn't have been in this game. If they had beat Finland they would have been playing Switzerland in Semi-Final #2.

not in a stupid disrespectful way that would make them bite their tongue later like Vatanen 2011

I love me some good old respectful chirping...

"You're team is pretty good, but I think we are also pretty good and we are going to bring out best effort so I hope you will also bring your best effort and it should be quite a game for the fans to enjoy and we will all be winners in the grand scheme of things!!"

Respectful chirping is not chirping. Chirping is disrespectful by definition...

Went to Western Michigans site and they have 3 23 yr olds and the rest are younger mostly 20-21 year olds . Mr Hughes apparently is not doing well in math at Michigan must need a tutor .

Argue semantics all you want - but college hockey is a notably older game than juniors and during some of the most transformative physical years of a persons' life. Size and strength in this tournament is not going to intimidate a college player - it just isn't, hyperbole aside...

well to be fair, they have 3 guys turning 22 in the next few weeks/month and 3 more guys turning 23 next week to next month...by next month half this team is over 21-22 years old...he isn't that far off..

Those silly Canadians thought they'd finish first in group play, thus playing in Russia's spot. Obviously that didn't happen lol

These games are so unpredictable. Hoping for a well-played, fast, physical, clean game from both teams. Go USA!

someones abit cocky...
This game is a big one for him. Russia played very phyically against Canada and I felt when watching that game that Q Hughes would struggle with physical pressure like that in his zone. Let see what he can do.

Hughes was obviously doing something that everyone does. It's called hyperbole. Clearly, he was exaggerating to emphasize a point regarding not being concerned about being over powered by the Russian team. He probably could have said it better, but it's really not a big deal. As for the early start time, maybe they preferred a midnight vs 3am Moscow time?

I think this game will tell a lot about both Hughes brothers.

This ones unpredictable, can truly go either way. Hopefully we see a high scoring game that isnt decided by special teams.

And preferred a 2am in Switzerland and 3am in Finland over 10pm in Switzerland and 11pm in Finland?

Well, some of Russian players play in the KHL, which is better, than NCAA, so they are even harder to be intimidated, than Quinn...

But it doesn’t matter becuase Hughes just mde a simple statement about the often concern abiut his height and weight. Well who the heck likes a confident Hockey player on your nations team anyways.

exactly. he was just making a comment that he plays against bigger older competition night in and night out - no big deal - people just look to talk shit wherever they can on the dumbest shit.
