Quality play from Tyutnev to break that SH rush up. He came a long way in very little time to foil Cavalleri.

Is 3-1 a fair scoreline? Just tuning in now. If so, that’s quite respectable from Switzerland with so many key players out.

Flattering scoreline. Very little high quality chances. Passing is incredibly poor in the offensive end. Some of the players here. Honestly Chayka or Mintyukov not over Novikov ? The PP was a comical two minutes.

Why Button keeps on praising Bayer when he's willingly throwing away possession?

The lack of possession is really hurting the Swiss, they’re actually solid aside from all the wasted possession

Russia controlling the game, but they dont create traffic in front of the net and try to score the simple way, they just run the cycle for long times and look for that big chance. Alot of posession, not much chances. Might be more effective to shoot more and use screen for goalie. In the other hand they have 2 goal lead so playing like that doesnt actually hurt

He played much better in the second period though.

That doesn't help. If you give up two soft goals as a goalkeeper then that's probably at least one too much. He was solid in the 2nd but it's not like he had to stand on his head or do crazy stuff to keep the score as it is. Russia didn't do much pretty much all game long and they don't look overly interested in changing that.

If somebody could tell our "coaches" about the importance of faceoffs? I'd appreciate that. Our so called "coaches" don't even know that losing faceoffs also means losing possession:laugh:
