Oh joy. The most wonderful season of all is coming. Time to watch all Slovakia games at the WJC plus whatever else I can catch at a reasonable time.

And I guess Christmas is around the corner too :sarcasm:

But seriously I was so salty when Canada organized it that one Covid year and then cancelled the whole thing.

That was rough. After Owen Power lit it up early, I was really looking forward to see what he could do the rest of the tournament. I feel I got cheated out of that, but happy we did see Bedard come back to dominate.

R.Rotenberg: As I know, Canadian broadcaster TSN, which has been showing the IIHF World Juniors for many years, is pushing for the IIHF to bring the Russian U20 Team back to the tournament. (source)

R.Rotenberg: IIHF, Hockey Canada and TSN have lost hundreds of millions of dollars because the Russian national team doesn't play at WJC, IIHFWorlds. Maybe even 1 billion dollars?

Not a lot of scoring chances either way. 1-1 after the 1st. Rehkopf from Sennecke for the Canadian goal. Heidt’s turnover led to the goal against.

Yeah he really stood out in a negative way. Couldn't make a clean pass, and had a couple bad turnovers.

Gibson on the other hand had a great period.
Gibson was probably Canada's best player that period. He's playing smart and shutting down plays. I always figured he'd be a favorite to make the team as a pure shutdown guy, I kind of expected him to be in Akey's spot as a player with the inside track today.

None of the forwards stood out that much, Sennecke and McKenna generated some of the few dangerous plays.
