Honestly I agree. Obviously Finland is the measuring stick for everyone else. Crazy that they’ve made it easy for someone else 19/20 times the last two decades.

So are you trying to say that in that 5ish minute period Canada made Finnish players make poor clearances or poor break-out passes? Because the Finns had time for both but failed on execution.

The intense pressure of the Canadians forced the Finn's to try and make decisions faster. Decisions they couldn't make fast enough which let Canada continue pummeling them in their zone.

He just can't make high-end plays that our defence desperately needs. He's had a lot of time on the blue-line with the puck, but he just ends up getting a weak shot from a bad angle, it hit the goalie, but that's not enough when we have Finland on their heels. Overall, he's seems too casual and soft. I'm not looking for Chris Pronger, but I'm looking for some intense defence that can pin the Fins on the wall and win 1 on 1 puck battles in our end.

We can't do that right now with defence. Duncan Keith is 5'10-5'11 and he makes it extremely difficult on forwards. We don't need size, we need intensity and physicality.
You mean the 6'1" Duncan Keith?

Hunter has to try to coach some of this cuteness out of them. Not every play can be a tic-tac-toe. Shoot for rebounds, see what happens, etc. Have guys without the puck drive lanes and open up space. They have a big enough team to succeed at doing that, and they can consistently get shots through from the point.

Exactly they need to simplify and play more north-south with more pucks on net.

I was just going to post the same. Short tournament with players not used to systems or each other. Keep it simple and basic.

He looked slow and indecisive last game too. Hopefully its just nerves.

But that pressure was created by poor clearance and a couple of players unable to change and wearing themselves out. Point being, you replace those couple of poor clearance/passes with good ones and there's no pressure. It's pointless to try and make it seem like Canada is dominating this game. They had a good period of momentum, created in large by Finnish carelessness but that's it. It's more even. And we still had more shots on goal than you.

At least Brook and Suzuki have looked good

I was pretty meh on the both of them before this game, thought Brook looked bad the first game but hes been getting more solid and looks good tonight. Suzuki just seemed like he was out there not doing much the first two games but hes also been really good tonight.

Yeah. A lot of people are really high on Dobson but I think hes been Canadas worst D, taking expectations into account hes been really bad. He does seem soft out there and lacks a killer instinct or something.
