Finnish defence has been soft and sloppy. Getting better.

Meriläinen has played 7 games with Finland's U20 NT this past season with 94.8% save percentage, so hasn't been much of a weak link so far.

Very easy, he's an interviewers dream for the TSN folks at this thing.

If you didn't know he was Finnish you would never guess it from listening to him speak English.

The thing is Canada and USA usually don't make these kinds of mistakes game 1 of any tournament. Unless the team is just bad which happens. Lots of talent on this Finland team but I'm skeptical so far of whether they can put it all together.

Is it really a news for you Latvia is able to cause problems for us?
I'm watched Finland vs Latvia games in IIHF tournaments last 10-15 yrs and
i can assure you Latvia has always been pain in the our asses.

Even U18 Team Finland had problems with Latvia in their WJC's this past April
and even our Olympic team had troubles with Latvia in Olympics so this isn't nothing new.

And what comes to our medal chances in these U20 WJC's
Gold medal game will be Canada vs USA if / when nothing surprising won't happen

And bronze game will be Finland vs Sweden
or Finland vs Czech Rebuplic ( if Sweden is out after quarterfinals )
or Sweden vs Czech Rebuplic ( If Finland is out after quarterfinals ).
