Huh?

I don't know what you're talking about, but it is absolutely insane inside the Coliseum right now.
Maybe the feed has something to do with it....I cant hear a thing but the commentators.

Staal and Parent have shut down Kessel so far, Kessel tried his trademark deke on both but both stopped Kessel.

His trademark deke?

Is that when he tries to push the puck past the defenseman, and then jump in the air past them?

NO shift for Latendresse.... and that damn Downie playing the powerplay! He is a good PKer and a good grinder, but PLEASE Brent let Gui at-least play on the powerplay, HE CAN SCORE...

It would've been hilarious had someone from the USA been in that little shootout and won it, the crowd would've booed like crazy.

That was the weirdest intermission contest I have seen in a while. I wonder if you could have won if you aimed for the car itself (like the driver side car door or something) and the puck just drops down. Sure, you'd have a dent; but you probably would have won a car!

Was that really necessary?

I'm in the arena right now and I promise you it is deafening.

I have to say it's been a great game so far. The effort by both teams has been top notch. Can wait for the 2nd.

Just some quick thoughts before I head back up.

Both teams are playing well, although Canada has the edge right now. Kessel has been completely shut down, as has Toews. The best player on the ice, in my opinion, in period one was Erik Johnson, who was spectacular.

Canada has US by the balls. Can’t see anything special about Americans.

The Americans are very dangerous.

Saying that, Canada is outplaying them badly 5-on-5.

I am just concerned with all of the penalties that Canada is taking thus far. You can't give this American team so many PP's and not get burned eventually.

If Canada can stay out of the penalty box and make it a 5-on-5 game, then I think that they have the huge advantage in this game, because thus far U.S.A. hasn't come close to competing with Canada's grit and tenacity.

Yea, he loves to puck the puck through the player and go inside on them.

I must say, Staal and Parent are having a very good game against Kessel so far. Bourdon has also been impressive on the blue line for Canada.

Erik Johnson was very good in the first period for the US.

Canada has really dominated the play when they are on not short-handed. Of course they will take some penalties since they have to play this very physical style against the Americans, and the referees here seem to mistake good physical body checking as some form of obstruction or violating the rules. :dunno: I am pretty confident about this game after watching the first period. It is interested all the hype around the Americans before this tournament, and yet they tie Switzerland, and are lucky to beat Finland, no doubt they are extremely good but I dont believe they are the team they were hyped to be before the tournament. On the other hand Canada is more than they were hyped to be before the tournament, but I predicted that, I said it would be like 03-04 when we were also underrated before the tournament.

Maybe I'm off but did they boo when Kessel had the puck?

I understand being fired up and rooting for your team but it seems like the crowd doesn't like the American team much.

Might as well stop talking about it now though before it starts a big brewhaha.

If you haven't already seen "something special" about Kessel, Ryan, Oshie, Wheeler, Schremp and the Johnson's, you have some catching up to do, you're a bit behind everyone else.
