I would have to say that Ovechkin is not doing so well in the head-to-head battle of stars. Even though his team had a substantial edge in power play time he was in capable of turning on the red light and giving his team a kick start. Look at the Canadian side and you see the way real stars perform in big games.

No one said that, I think he was referring to all the Russian fans saying how Ovechkin is like a rock, and that Canada couldn't physically punish him.

And the post I quoted had nothing to do with it. You know damn well the phrase "Couldnt take the pounding" was meant as a way of saying Ovechkin just left the ice because he couldnt handle it, not that he left because he was hurt.

I feel bad because any time a player shows a sign of weak play, fans jump all over them. Montoya didn't play his best throughout the tournament, and someones got to feel like their first rounder was a bust. He should bounce back though

It has been a thoroughly more enjoyable experience with the announcers muted out. No Pierre, just hockey :)

It is. And Canada is showcasing the best junior talent amassed on one team in a very long time. That is just an awesome lineup through and through. The Russians sound like midgets out there. The only time they have done anything is when they have been put on the powerplay. Canada definitely has produced an incredible team.
And if it continues on its ugly course, both teams could be disqualified. It's happened before. Wouldn't that be a disgrace?

Patriotism and taunting are two different entities. There are a lot of posters who believe that Ovechkin crossed that line.

Probably a bunch of American fans who are upset that we lost. Or some canadians who like 'tradition' and whatnot.

The Canadians are the better team, from top to bottom, playing in front of a home crowd. Spare it.

true that, especially around here. how players perform in this tournament isn't really gonna matter in the end in their development...
