I think Lundell was better than J Hughes and Kakko in this game. He killed penalties, won key draws, fought hard defensively and generated chances. Kakko was better than Hughes it this game mainly because of his defensive game. He killed penalties, was defending 1 goal lead in final minute and scored a golden goal. I’m extremely impressed with Lundell. He has everything you want from a center. To me he looked much better than Lafreniere.

We can stop the J Hughes>Matthews talks. It’s obvious that Matthews was on another level as a prospect. J Hughes is not at that level.
I think Kakko is still better than Lundell, but because of his age Lundell gets another + year in Liiga before draft which should be good, if IFK dare to put him to 2nd C position.

Hastings was badly outcoached.

Wahlstrom goal should have counted.

Good game.

Good night lads! Thanks to all the posters here for sharing the excitement and also thanks to Team USA, they deserved to be in the finals; you were the toughest opponent by far!

We did it boys! Here's to many more to come!

Couldn't ask for a better program or a better group of fans to lose to at least.

The passion for hockey in Finland is scintillating.
Thank you for the kind words. And to Team USA for a true thriller of a final, including the first period reffing drama and all.

You're supposed to hate you neighbour in all sports. Finns never support Swedes in any sports.

I support Sweden in major football tournaments cause Finland is never there. I also root for them in hockey when they're playing Canada cause it's nice to see the underdog win.

I wish the Swedes and Finns could get along and also be one nation. I think their playing styles compliment each other - feisty, driving, solid goaltending Finns and responsible, boring, mistake free, socialist Swedes.
Would make some incredible men’s teams every time out, someone who could really rival Canada, and only about 15million population still.

Anyways, great job Finland. This tourney has so much parity over the last ten years. The top five nations are very even. Too bad the Czechs arent what they used to be.

I am still proud of the way USA played. I thought this was a really talented mature team. Excited what Quinn and Jack Hughes, Cockerill, Poehling, Wahlstrom, Cates, Kemp, Madden, Robertson, and Chmelevski can do in the NHL and hopefully the US national team.

Ditto. Bummed USA couldn't add gold to their trophy case but still proud of what the team accomplished.
Congrats to Finland on the well earned gold medal!

Now on to 2020 WJHC when Group B looks extra super scary! YIKES

Blasphemy.

I don’t see what’s funny about this whatsoever. Who would you give it to alternatively?
Luukkonen who was incredible, Heponiemi scored 7 points in the playoff rounds. Mr. MVP went pointless when it mattered in the playoffs. That is f***ing hilarious to be honest as the trophys name is ”most valuable player”.

Finland is the greatest hockey power in the world.

I'm sure Crosby, McDavid, MacKinnon are shaking in their boots for the next best on best tournament. Stop being drunk and be realistic. Finland is on the upswing, for sure but they still aren't in the top 4, let alone #1.
