Germans looked very good, to bad they couldn’t find the back of the net. Sweden looks weak even know they won.
90% of goaltending is done before the shot is actually taken. Only the last 10% of goaltending is the save itself. If the goalie is doing his job correctly, he is hardly moving to make the save. If he is doing something acrobatic to make the save, something went wrong. Positioning, positioning, positioning. Boring goaltending is good goaltending. There should be a stat for actual saves where the goalie has to move and shots that just hit the goalie cause in my books that's not a save
Sweden won the shots by a wide margin. Makes no sense that the team that won the shoots looked "very weak".Germans looked very good, to bad they couldn’t find the back of the net. Sweden looks weak even know they won.
Did you watch the game? Only thing keeping Swedes in it was the goalie.Sweden won the shots by a wide margin. Makes no sense that the team that won the shoots looked "very weak".
I think Sweden is good in a key area and that is transition/reaction to defense.. When they lose the puck or the other team gets a hint of a breakout on the go... they have numbers everywhere. We will see how they do against the Czech's and Canada.Sweden won the shots by a wide margin. Makes no sense that the team that won the shoots looked "very weak".
Yes i watched the game. Sweden had 40+ shots on goal, much more than Germany had. Why do you ignore that? Sweden created more scoring chances than the germans. More like the only thing keeping the germans in the game was their goalie, how often does a goalie save 40+ shots?Did you watch the game? Only thing keeping Swedes in it was the goalie.
In the graphics before the start of the third period, they showed the ratio of shots of both teams. And guess what there was..the first period ended 13-16 on shots, but of those thirteen German shots, a full ten were on power plays. Sweden had the exact opposite, only five shots on power plays and almost thirty shots at 5v5. In the third period, given the result, it is logical that Germany pushes into the shooting in an attempt to equalize the situation. Therefore, the Germans won the third period 13-10. But in the total the Swedish superiority was obvious and it was only thanks to the great Quapp that Sweden did not decide their win earlier. Nevertheless, Germany had several chances in the last third and could have equalized, but Lindbom was excellent yesterday and will keep a clean sheet. Sweden's victory is thus fully deserved, even if the result does not match it.Did you watch the game? Only thing keeping Swedes in it was the goalie.
