U18: WJC day 4 and 5 GDT

Our record against USA, CAN, SWE, RUS and FIN is 5 wins and 31 losses since 2008. That's just brutal. As I said in the other thread, the win against Switzerland will be the only one in the whole tournament. Just like every year.

Yet I'm not sensing panic and the same guys are in charge. There is still no great system past 16 years old in the Czech leagues. If a player is to stay and develop they usually end up playing for 4 or 5 different teams in the same season. Eg. U18, U20, Extraliga, WJHC, U20... just no consistency. Looking up how our propsects are doing is always frustrating. And, if they do make Extraliga a lot of them sit on the bench.

They really need to reinvent 'Junior hockey' in the Czech republic. I feel we do a great job till 16. But we have nothing like the CHL or USHL. Sweden has a beauty Junior program that develops lots of NHL players.
 
Also, since I'm being negative (even if we win gold I'll still hate Hadamczak)... it is great that we have 11 goals in 2 games.. now 12 goals as we are up 1-0!
 
Pretty wild start with 3 goals in the first 10 minutes. Hughes scores on the PP, 2-1 Russia

My vague understanding of the jackass is that he's relatively wealthy as he's a successful businessman of some sort.. maybe condos? Only the Czech federation would give this guy a job again!

Needs more Kakko! I think you guys were better in the period. Us scoring so early was obviously helpful. Post with 12 seconds left really helped the Czech cause as well. It'll be tough for us to win if this keeps up but I'll certainly take the lead!

I have to predict 2001 born players who might get drafted in this U18 WJC team
i would say Heinola, Puistola, Kokkonen, Tuomisto, Tieksola and maybe Iivari Räsänen and Leevi Aaltonen.

2002 born players who will get drafted next year Lundell, Simontaival, Niemelä and maybe Miettinen and Hirvonen. Other players like Taponen etc no enough talent to be NHL draft prospect.
 
Not in love with this Czech powerplay... apparantly they lit up the Swiss with the man advantage but the Belarus game and this one all I've seen is a lousy powerplay.
