Leaving out one of Laine or Aho is tough. Then again, so is Matthews. I picked Laine and Aho based on what I've seen from them in this tournament, but someone who has seen more of Matthews might make a different call.

I've watched every game with the exception of the untelevised relegation round. Matthews is the All-Star C.

I guess I'm one of the few who thinks Werenski has been the best defenseman in the tournament bar none?

Laine -- Matthews -- Puljujarvi
Provorov -- Juolevi
Nedeljkovic

Though Aho, Werenski & Soderstrom are very hard to leave out.

Puljujärvi - Matthews - Laine
Provorov - Werenski
Söderström

No question about Pulju and Laine. Could've been Aho over Matthews, but i feel like Matthews just dominated the games all by himself, while Finland just had a really good line overall. Matthews was USAs best player, which says a lot for me since that team was really good and for me favorites to win it all.

Werenski and Provorov were very important for their respective teams, Juolevi was good, but i feel like his numbers got kinda infiltrated because of that great 1st line.

Söderström was flawless in this tournament, he had 1 pretty bad rebound against Canada, but other than that, he was just sensational. Nedeljkovic was also very good, but thought he struggled a little bit in the end. Had a pretty weak goal against Russia yesterday, but also made a couple of good saves.

Fair enough on picking Werenski and Provorov, but Juolevi has played amazing hockey in his own right. His point totals might be inflated by our top line, but Juolevi deserves recognition regardless.

Ofc, didn't state anything else. Not being picked over highly regarded players like Provorov and Werenski isn't bad. He's one of the players that just missed out.

Puljujärvi
Werenski
Söderström

It’s now known that F Puljujärvi, D Werenski, G Söderström will be named best players at every positions during this year’s WJC. They will be presented during the finals according to media.

All good choices.

wouldn't be surprised if 1 of them doesn't get named to the all star team. It's happened before because different sets of people vote on these things(or they have in the past anyway). The 3 D and 2 goalies are so close in my mind.

Said the all star team on TV

Puljujarvi-Matthews-Laine
Werenski-Juolevi

didn't hear the goalie.

no Russians. Like everyone said Provorov was the only realistic one but he got beat out by the other 2 D.

Kamenev was fantastic throughout the tourney, not just in the offensive zone but he was absolutely a great defensive player on top of that night in, night out.

The actual all-star team:

Puljujarvi-Matthews-Laine
Werenski-Juolevi

Soderstrom

Pulju was MVP and Werenski was top d-man.

Seems fitting. I was torn between Aho and Matthews. But in the end, Auston fits there better. Nice to see the possible top-3 draftees on top line. :)

Kamanev was a quality player throughout the tournament but he was never going to beat out the Finnish 3 or Matthews for the all star team imo.

Have draft-eligible players ever dominated the tournament like this before? The 2016 class looks very impressive.

Werenski? Wow. Don't think I agree there. But IIHF always makes strange picks for all-star teams and top honors.
