Saw Mynio a bit in the Czechia game. Looked like he was the seventh defender. Didn’t play much.

Always loved the WJC. Kids playing their hearts out for the love of the game, not the money. Pure unadulterated hockey.

Good WJC = higher draft pick/more opportunities = better chance at bigger salary NHL paycheck.

Think they are also playing for national pride.

You can pass some judgment on the top scorers in the tournament. They have strong odds of going on to become star to elite players in the NHL.

Hockey Canada has been pretty successfully bungling the WJC for a few years running now, Im not surprised by anything with them

I'm cautiously optimistic as per usual for this tournament. Hoping Canada takes it, of course. But I'm expecting the US to repeat, especially with their superior goaltending.

IMO Willander has been pretty noticeable (in a good way) this first period. Good reads with and without the puck.

Weird 2 dman set up on the PP with Willander as the facilitator and ASP on the half wall.

Very good opportunity for us to be able to see whether he can run a top PP unit. Though i do think he’s better served on the half wall. ASP is just a better threat from the point.

Willander has his first point of the tournament, a secondary assist on an ASP powerplay goal.

I’ve liked how much Willander is shooting the puck in this game.

I’m here at the SWE-SVK game. Willander has been the top minute-man (but much less noticeable than ASP, I’d say). Also registered the hardest shot at 136 km/h.
