I don’t understand. What you’re saying is reinforcing what I’m saying. Yager is in that tier of 8-10 guys that will go anywhere from 7/8 to 17/18. We might as well be selecting 8th, we’ll just have less options to choose from.
one should never post when drinking. sorry

Yager has 5+5 in 6 PO games.

Looking forward to watching the U18s, most of the names we’re mentioning will be there.
if ritchie is there please keep an eye on him for me. i seem to be an outlier on him. i think he's a good player on a bad team (he wont have that as an excuse) while others seem to think he's not as good as i think he is. i would value your take on him. thanks.

there are some guys who could be picked around #14 who could be good…do you trust the Pens to find and select those guys? I mean the new GM might be great but well likely be relying on the old scouting department…I don’t have a lot of trust there lol
I'd hope any GM they do pick at least has knowledge of the top end of the draft this year. If they don't, they may not be the best GM for us to hire.

We'll see. There's a long time until October for reflection and analysis.
What he says now may be different than how he approaches things 6 months later after this miserable ending.

Considering that there'll be a new GM, I don't think he's gonna feel all that safe anymore.
Yeah, I'm not sure how many coaches survive while having 3 different GM's above him.

Possible that Axel Sandin may fall to 14th but doubtful .. Reason is GMs will look at his great skating which is needed in the NHL.

The problem clearly isn’t will there be a quality top 6 (game breaker) at 14 it’s just will the Penguins be taking him…

If the Penguins get Reinbacher I think that pushes us forward a year in the prospect department: not exactly a need considering our best three prospects are Defense but he is definitely BPA. Teams in the top 5 wouldn’t have a problem taking him after second look.

They should, 100% draft a player here. I think with the prospects available in the top 20, the player can be in the NHL within 2 years and help the current team out especially with his entry level deal

If you can get out of Granlund regardless you do it. If you actually get something back all the better.

Dumbest trade I've seen in a long-ass time.

Does anyone think we could get one of Arizona's four 3rds for Granlund? That would be awesome.
You mean, Will Arizona accept a 3rd to take Granlund.

I think we get two thirds from them. He still holds value to the teams he fits with.
lol he sucks, and He makes more than his cap hit in real dollars. You're dreaming if you think they are giving value for him, let alone two 3rds.

Granlund might be semi-beneficial over a longer timeline than 20 games during a very rare healthy streak for our top 6. He's simply not cut out to be a 3rd liner especially with bad wingers but as a very pricey Rodrigues he could fit. How many man games does our top 6 miss usually, 40-60 games? He slides up into the top 6 in those games and doesn't look out of place. Still hits 50+ points.

He had a lower points/60 here than Jeff Carter and Brock McGinn. I certainly hope he's got another gear to show than that because oof.

On Nashville he put up a 1.33 p/60. That would have been good for 10th best on the Pens. Hopefully he can get closer to that level.

Agree that he's wasted on the third line. I think his skill set is suitable as a complementary winger. He can pass the puck well. As a third wheel he might be acceptable with Geno or Sid.

If they're gonna use him on the third line they need a third line that can really possess the puck because he won't drive play.

If he’s still here, the best use of him is on PP1 actually…I mean much of that P60 is PP points, makes no sense to give him 20-30 seconds of PP time on PP2

Granlund couldn't even hit 50 points in Nashville with top 6 minutes and top PP time. Only once did he hit 50 in Nashville, and it was still with poor 5v5 stats the year he hit 64.

Since Granlund’s first full season in Nashville 8 guys have reached 50+ points, and 3 of them were Josi. So it’s been done 5 times by like 4 different forwards. They don’t score much as a team under Hynes.

Granlund has 1 more 50+ point season than Rakell in careers of equal length.

Not defending the trade or Granlund as I didn’t like the trade and don’t even much care for him as a player but he was a high 1st round pick, previously traded for Fiala, makes $5m per for a reason. He can be a productive hockey player. Some are talking about him like he’s Cal O’Reilly.
