That said and maybe it was just a rumor, but wasn't Staal one of the people who thought Crosby shouldn't be captain anymore? That said, maybe he would've won more than 2 if he didn't want to play with his brother and handcuff the GM by making that public. Thankfully it worked out for both parties.

Might go down as the greatest 1-2-3 down the middle in NHL history. I would say that is pretty cool. I could care less about what Staal is like off the ice. I still listen to Michael Jackson.

people want an “acceptable” outlet for their anger and hate for others so when they’re interested in hockey they make up a list of players (who never actually did anything to anyone by everyone’s admission) to incessantly talk shit on
i doubt crosby even cares about the captaincy discussions at this point

Staal was dope and I'm happy for him. I'm glad he got his in Carolina because it looked like his potential was basically going to be wasted there his entire career.
There's been a few instances of Crosby and Staal chatting before games and stuff broadcast over the years, and Sid even spoke about how the news about Jordan's child passing away years ago affected him and the team if I'm remembering correctly. I don't think Crosby took any of that C drama stuff personally and I don't think there was a real mutiny to try to steal that captaincy, I just think there was real doubt as to when Sid was ever coming back at a point.
