Confirmed Buy-Out Wisniewski bought out

Carolina buys out James Wisniewski

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has bought out the remainder of defenseman James Wisniewski’s contract.
Wisniewski, 32, appeared in one game with the Hurricanes in 2015-16, suffering a torn ACL in his left knee during the first period of the team’s opener against the Nashville Predators. He has appeared in 552 career NHL games with Chicago, Anaheim, the New York Islanders, Montreal, Columbus and Carolina, totaling 274 points (53g, 221a).

They have a ton of young D that need minutes. Didn't think they'd buy him out but not a huge shock

Skated all of 47 seconds for the Hurricanes. That has to be a record? Sad to see he was bought out, thought he could brought some nice veteran leadership on that right side.

Canes fans are all surprised. Really not sure why this happened. Canes are a Cap Floor team right now and Wizniewski was only owed $3 million this year.
