Support sure exceeded expectations for basically pick up basketball, of course the product was a lot more exciting than continual 1-0 losses and suffering through a Valour game or watching slipping Sammy's 6th rate ball team playing against other nobodies!

I feel like I'm still riding the high of that wild Sea Bears comeback win last Friday against Scarborough. If you didn't see the game or the highlights, these 22 seconds will give you a good taste of what it was like at CLC that night

The Seabs are a fun team to watch but they basically ride or die with Teddy Allen, he alone determines the fate of this team.

Yeah, the crowd was into it, great atmosphere for sure on Friday night!

NB that you can also watch games on TV (some games are on TSN and Game+), and the ones that aren't on TV are streaming live at CEBL+ which you can access for free.

Anyone following this insane soap opera drama with the Sea Bears? The team was in a terrible funk, getting pasted night after night despite Teddy Allen putting up insane numbers. Then they released Teddy and went on to beat the league's top team, the Vancouver Bandits, in a thrilling come-from-behind win at home. This is wild stuff.

Seems like Teddy really was the problem. Gutsy move to release the league MVP and the most popular player — they were definitely beginning to build the Sea Bears brand around Teddy Buckets. I'm no basketball expert, but the commitment to team play, ball movement, and defence last night was significantly improved. The Sea Bears of last week would've never had the cohesion to fight back like they did. Justin Wright-Foreman was a beast last night.

Only one game but looks like it might addition by subtraction without Teddy Buckets playing hero ball. The fallout from the most pivotal decision in franchise history so far is off to a good start.

I was at the game on Sunday before Teddy was released - he put up 39 points. He was definitely trying to do it all himself, though haha. He was also yellin' loud and arguing w/ the team on the bench. Who knows?

I don't know if it was gutsy. I think it was so bad, way worse than any of us in the public know. They had no choice

It's a great time, we brought the family of 5 for $100. It's definitely not NBA ball, but it was still super fun. The bears missing all those 3s hurt my soul, though.
I went to NBA games in Toronto and at MSG in New York this past season and I have to say that in terms of presentation, the Sea Bears stack up very, very well. It feels like a NBA arena when the CLC is filled up (well, the lower bowl at least - I don't get why they don't open up the upper bowl).

Certainly for the price you aren't going to find a more 'big league' atmosphere anywhere in Canada. Only the Raptors beat them in that department but of course that costs NBA money.

Some of the other CEBL teams could take a lesson from what's being done here in Winnipeg, you watch those games from Saskatoon and it's pitiful, it looks like crap, reminds me of the old Winnipeg Cyclone playing at the Convention Centre. It's easy to understand why hardly anyone comes out there.
