The mission is simple. Win in regulation time and we can pretty much rest our players until the playoffs if necessary.

And so, as it stands both the Jets and Dallas have now played 78 games each, with 4 remaining.

For Dallas to surpass us, they’ll pretty much need to win out. Even if Dallas wins tonight, they are still 2 points back, with 3 games left. Out of their 3 left, they’d have to win another game just to tie, and hope the Jets don’t win any of their 3 remaining games.

Dallas pretty much has to win out.

I’m not sure what happens if they end up tied in total points? I guess it’s either who had the better record vs each other? or which team had more regular season wins

Anyway you look at it, the Jets have the edge sitting 4 points up, and they could wrap up the division, and make a statement with a win in Dallas tonight.

Pulling for the Jets all the way man 👍

If the jets get two clean points. They are up 6 with 3 to play.
Do they clinch first in the west? I don’t know the tie break situation stuff.
I believe in this case they use their records vs each other, and then the Jets win the Central ? unless they use total season wins ?

If jets and dallas both finish 2 - 2.. it'll come down to more regulation wins minus ot or shootout if that's tied come down to goal differential in games vs each other... if that's even come down to goal differential for season..

So I decided not to be lazy.
RW is the first tie breaker. Jets are up 1 as of today.
So I don’t think they can clinch even with a clean 2 points.

Right now jets only have 1 more regulation win than dallas... so hypothetical scenario..

If jets win tomm in regulation jets don't clinch but would be close.. as they would still have only 2 more regulation wins.. jets could finish 0 - 3 and dallas 3 - 0 in regulation and dallas wins the division.. highly unlikely jets lose to Chicago and Anaheim.. if jets go 2 - 2 and dallas goes 4 - 0 all regulation wins.. we are 2nd place...

Tbh dallas looks like shit... even with soft schedule barely scraping by... should of lost almost every game they played but been bailed out by thier goalie and timely goals... if jets can win tomm and get a point in the last 3 games they in no matter what

Wednesday morning musings under the guise of the premature birth of our very own GDT (thanks Dude).

What the Jets need: a win. (has this point been adequately considered?)
What might help: carry the intensity of St. Louis, onboarding Ehlers, various body parts of homo sapiens sapiens reflecting Dagmaresque styling cues from 50's era automobiles (itself a classic chicken-or-egg conundrum..).

Intangibles: Lunchbucket goals: part II and the recent crushing of Dallas' pride.
What would be nice: Applehaus and Lurch finding a path; freshly-babied Comrie with another strong game.

Lets fluster DeBoer and his pack of gibbering kestrels!! Let them be unflatteringly dressed for their impending reckoning/emergent troubles!

:)

Allez Jettes, avancer sur tout le monde.

If there was ever a time to fly a couple of hundred litres of Red River "water" (arguably a 70/30 liquid water/hydrous aluminum silicate concoction resulting from eons of erosion of feldspar rock) to accompany the lads for a few quick coelacanthine "breaths" prior to puck drop, this is it!

All i know is the Jets have a 4 point cushion on Dallas right now and I'm loving the position we are in compared to them.
That’s the way we have to look at this. We have a significant advantage going into this game, 4 points up, and if the game ends up tied, and we lose in OT, we’re still 3 points up, with both having 3 games left.

More pressure on them, but nothing guaranteed here- could go right down to the wire.

Let's say we beat them 4-2. What would you do if you were DeBoer? The chances of catching us are very slim. Do you rest some of your (better) players to make sure they are rested/healthy against Colorado? Or do you go all in and try to do the impossible possible and avoid Colorado?

Good question , i don't know. If he goes for it and they lose a good player to injury they are probably in a worse position to beat Colorado in the playoffs. Tough question actually.

If they win in regulation, I can guarantee they will go all in until they can't get 1st.
