I think Morrissey has a 75 percent chance of making the team

I always thought he'd have another year in junior but over the last bit I'm beginning to agree with you here. I think he stands a pretty decent chance here just as Trouba forced his way.

I think there is certainly a top 4 spot up for grabs on the left side if he can beat out Clitsome. Stuart will be here for sure given his new contract, be it bottom pairing or top 4. I could see Clitsome as the odd man out or switching sides and seeing if he can play the right side.

Enstrom - Trouba
Clitsome - Bogosian
Stuart - Postma
Pardy/Ellerby

It will resolve itself, but I agree if Morrissey forces his way on there could be a spot made for him.

If he comes and plays like he did in the AHL with the added muscle, I can't see them sending him back.

The only way is if he shows he can't physically handle it. Trouba forced there hand because he was more than physically ready last year.

They also set up with contracts that they can make room for him

Be interesting to see what they do if Morrissey makes the team.

Do they ease Morrissey in with third pairing minutes?
If so, who plays in the top four with Bogo, Trouba, and Enstrom? Stuart or Clitsome? Clitsome is likely wiser option, but there are injuries and last season they liked Stu-Trouba.
Who then plays with Morrissey? Clitsome has experience on the offside, but when with two lefties Stu has always played on his natural side (for Jets, no idea about previous).

If Morrisey earns his top four position do they play Morrissey with Trouba and go for an all rookie pair? Or do they split up the two and relegate Bogosian back to the second pair?

I think the latter. Trouba can handle top minutes. My only concern is that Bogo doesn't cover up for Morrissey's roaming enough.

Also, it wouldn't be an "all-rookie" pair ;)

It'd be interesting to see JoMo and Bogo together.

I know they probably won't live together (well, what do I know), but do you think Josh becomes the third musketeer in Jacob and Zach's bromance?

It would be neat if we could see this more often:

But both Josh and Zach could be on their natural sides.

Trouba/Enstrom
Bogo/Clitsome
Stuart/Morrissey

I think they may start the season with that. Bogo/Clitty played together did they not? Assuming Trouba is ready for larger and better minutes(not as big a stretch I think). Stuart/Morrissey get easy minutes and Morrissey sees PP time.

I agree. At a solid 190+ lbs I won't be surprised if Morrissey stays with the Jets. He got almost the equivalent of a half-year of professional (AHL) development last year, and handled it very well. With his skill and smarts I think he's ready for the NHL, and if he's physically ready it's all systems "go".

Who plays on their off side in that case Joe? Morrissey or Stuart?
I haven't seen either of them play on the right side (obviously excluding PP). I also am of the opinion side matters mostly in comfort only.

Did Stuart play at all on his offside? I can't remember. I think Morrissey would be the "better" player to play on the off side because of his higher skill level

I actually think that they might be more likely to flip Clitsome to the R side.

Trouba / Enstrom
Bogo / Morrissey
Clitsome / Stuart

They could also consider Ellerby or Postma for the third pairing, along with Pardy on the L.

I think that one of the reasons they played Trouba with Bogo and then Stuart last year was to give him a bit of a physical partner to help back him up when things got a bit testy. They might do the same with Morrissey.

I think Stuart only played the L, with Trouba and occasionally Ellerby on the R.

Morrissey can lower the boom just like Trouba. He has a few fights in the WHL

Case in point

Only guys I've had who have played on their offsides as Jets:
Bogosian (right playing left side)
Hainsey (left playing right side)
Oduya (left playing right side)
Clitsome (left playing right side)
Ellerby (left playing right side)

I tried to keep this as accurate as possible:

I use to think it was 50-50 that Josh would make the Jets but now I have it closer to 80-20 in his favor. Once he hit 193 in weight I felt like that was the last straw because I have zero doubt he has the skill, speed, and IQ to adapt well to the NHL game. I would not be at all surprised to see him have a Maatta type rookie season.

I believe that is how you write it when you are writing your lines pre-game sheets:

G
RD-LD(x3)
RW-C-LW(x4)

Just not how most do it on the internet relm

I've never seen anyone in North America go backwards like this in listing lineups. In Europe yes, not in North America at any level.

Sorry that is how I wrote them for a long time going up the ice. Something I learned from a friend in the scouting business a long time ago and now its just habit

Jeepers everyone is certainly optimistic that he makes it now. I'm hoping you 're right, but wouldn't that mean that one of Postma, Pardy or Ellerby would need to be sent down?
