I get that the call was right, but I really don't feel like it captures the spirit of the intention behind the purpose of being off side. That play had no bearing on the goal regardless of whether he had control of the puck across the line or not :/

That's silly though. If I as a defenseman force a forward to go offside at the blueline, that's a legit defensive play.
