I appreciate the sarcasm… that’s not a joke … I appreciate good sarcasm.
I also appreciate that this is a hockey futures chat page and many on this site have “Pie in the sky aspirations for our Future Jet prospects” high hopes!
I think some of you out there have “high hopes”. I also think …. That somebody made a song about “high hopes”…. That song should be many of your theme song and you should play it before you go to bed at night and then wake up to it when your alarm clock goes off in the morning!!
“He’s got highhhh hopes”
Anyhow…… I’m not pooping on Milac , I’m just being realistic. The young fellow has done fantastic with the opportunities that he had in front of him….. and I wish him the best.
I personally had higher hopes on the Russian goalie that we had a few years ago that went back to the KhL a few years ago or that tall Swede Holm that killed it in the SHL….., both of whom probably will have had a better AHL career than Milac.
Keep up the good sarcasm , it may serve you well in an argument with your wife / girlfriend. ( I hear women love sarcasm and for men to tell them truth when they ask “Does this look good?”).
I appreciate a little humour too.
It is not just about excessive hopes. I have high hopes for many of our prospects too, but I try to also be realistic. High hopes are relative. I have higher hopes for some of our current prospects than for those of some other recent years.
But talking about Milic, we are comparing him to our other prospects. If he was the best of a bad lot he might be terrible, but still best of that lot. As is I had him roughly equal to Divincentiis. Both have had recent success. Milic has a longer record of success. He is also older. Nevertheless, he has managed to maintain his level of success. I hope DD also manages to maintain it. But he hasn't yet.
I think Milic is being underrated because of his height, or lack of it. Time will tell whether he can overcome that limitation or not. But as long as he keeps succeeding I will remain hopeful.
