Having a friend who is in his first full season in the NHL and after figuring out how much of his actual $875,000 he takes home, and rent he pays in a large US urban centre, Winnipeg would be an ideal start to a career. Laine is quite safe I would say in that he will make A LOT of money in his career, but to start out, getting a nice condo or house for cheaper than what most guys get a bachelor pad apartment in a lot of US cities would be pretty nice. I know the weather can be an issue, but he seems content to enjoy his down time in front of a big screen with a system. Sign him long term!!
