No post game comments from Coach Patrick.
There were postgame comments... but you have to use the CHL app and go to the Winnipeg ICE section to see them.

For reasons unbeknownst to me, the ICE don't put all pre/post game videos on social media, and you have to use the app (maybe they're on the website too, I didn't check there) to see them.

Thanks for the info.

If the ICE are forcing people to use the app to watch post game comments, then they're dumb.

They should be trying everything possible to generate interest, not make things harder.

I have heard it suggested by one or two people on other sites that ICE ownership was hoping to get a significant portion of their arena publicly funded. No traction with various levels of government and as a result, there was no real impetus to move past the stage of initial renders we saw 3 or so years ago.

From my vantage point, it appears this franchise is living on borrowed time.
Sources said Fettes isn’t asking for any public money. The project will be paid for privately by Fettes, his partners and new investors, along with debt financing.

“The move to Winnipeg was a permanent move and we have no intention of considering any other options,” said (WHL commissioner Ron) Robison by telephone from Calgary. “(We’re) looking forward to creating great excitement in that market now with a hockey team that’s performing at the level it’s currently performing at, so we have no intention of relocating the franchise.”

Big 5-2 Win in a Matinee in Calgary. 4 points for Benson, 3 for Savoie, 2 more goals for McClennon.

With 15 games to go they still have an outside shot at the elusive 60 wins. Currently 45-7-1.

In case anyone was wondering:
Since 2000:
Kelowna (13-14): 57 wins, 118 points (72 games, now play 68)
Portland (12-13): 57 wins, 117 points (72 GP)
Calgary (08-09): 59 wins, 122 points (72)
Vancouver (08-09): 57 wins, 119 points (72)
Calgary (99-00): 58 wins, 120 points (72)

60 wins has only been done once in 80-81 (Victoria)
125 points is the most in a single season (Brandon, 78-79)

With a 72 game schedule it would have been pretty much a given that the ICE would be hitting 60 wins this season.

I couldn't watch this afternoon's game but I saw they called up Miles Cooper. Who was he in for?

Fraser/Medernach so no real loss or injury.

ICE win again! That makes 11 in a row, this time with a 10-1 victory over the Oil Kings in a matinee matchup at Rogers Place.

I say this only somewhat tongue in cheek, but it's sad that the Hitmen and Oil Kings had their weekday matinees against the ICE who absolutely drilled them both, sending the thousands and thousands of schoolchildren home disappointed. Maybe next season save the matinees for Brandon!

Damn. Tough one for the ICE, they started out with those two quick goals and I thought it was going to be a beatdown, but after that, this Evan May kid stood on his head for the rest of the game in the Med Hat net against a barrage of ICE shots. Conversely, it was maybe not the greatest night of Mason Beaupit's career either.

Thus ends the streak. On to Regina.
