As a Sabres fan i would do this is a heartbeat, but this is a completely unrealistic proposal. Wheeler may not be worth his cap hit any longer, but he is still a far more useful player than Skinner. Skinner basically just coasts now since getting his deal and will very likely be bought out in 2 years when the Sabres can stay above the floor without his 9 million on the books. Both players also have a NMC and I don't see either waiving. Sabres are stuck with Skinner until the end or until he gets bought out.

ME Vlassic, E. Kane... that's pretty much it (and both have NMC IIRC)

Skinner contract nearly impossible to get rid of, I'd say Seattle is a potential destination, but the NMC. Creativity can only go so far. Nothing can be done but buy him out it seems like. Worst contract in the league. Even Bobrovsky is playing well. I made a hopeful thread about it on Sabres sub: "how to Say Skeddadle To Skinner", but I am quietly encroaching to the acceptance stage.
