Really good interview with Collaros. Parts of it anyway.

Admitted he couldn’t grip the ball, or throw properly.

Was happy to see the media question O’Shea, and Collaros about Buck’s play calling. That POS can go work for another team frankly.

Asinine play calling all game long. Wish they questioned Youngers incredibly passive 3man rush, but we are likely going to be in for another year seeing that trash.
Couldn't grip the ball. Should we start with a short five yard pass to test it? Nah let's go bomb on first throw.

It’s probably easier/safer to bomb a ball to an area than it is to zip it in closer where the coverage is generally tighter.

How about a dump off to the flats and let Oliveira make plays in space.

Regardless, while I’m not going to absolve Buck Pierce - absolute dog shit game plan on his part - the blame should be squarely on Collaros for those INTs.

Nearly every pass play has a deep shot option, an intermediate option, and then a short/checkdown option. Collaros, busted finger and all, decided to keep playing hero ball and float moon balls 30-35 yards downfield or fit throws into impossibly tight windows.

Elephant in the room is that Collaros kinda sucked for most of this season. Had himself a game at home vs. the Elks, another great one in the West Final. Then a few more decent ones, but it felt like the D and running game dragged his ass across the finish line in most of the wins. Too many mistakes and boneheaded turnovers this season, and his ability to create magic on the run has steadily eroded over the last two seasons.

Collaros is the greatest Bomber QB in my lifetime and in the conversation with Ploen, Clements and Brock for sure. But to call a spade a spade, he’s on the downswing of his career and I don’t see it getting significantly better next season. I’ll hold out hope for a renaissance with a fully loaded and healthy group of pass catchers.

I would never call Collaros the greatest Bomber QB ever, not by a longshot. Look at his career Grey Cup Stats with the Bombers. Only 5 games, I know, but up until the previous week's game against Saskatchewan, he had never had a great playoff game with Winnipeg in 5 years. I know he has 2 MOPs, and full credit to him for that, but those have occurred during an especially weak time for QB depth in the CFL.

He has lost the last two Grey Cups to what was thought to be a washed-up Fajardo and backup journeyman Arbuckle.

Maksymic any good? Lions fans were bitching about him all year.
Led Rourke to his breakout season, then VAJ the season after, and had him in MVP discussions this year prior to his injury - BC's offence then faltered when Rourke couldn't read the game as fast because their offensive line sucked more than the Bombers did earlier on in the season. In a passing league like the CFL, he'd be appreciated anywhere and could definitely maximize any two of Lawler, Schoen, and Wilson (depending on who stays) - but how would he adjust a system with an aging Collaros and a MVP RB in Oliveira could be different territory for him. (He's also a Canadian and would probably fit the whole Canadian Mafia perception that the Winnipeg Football Club has, lol)
