Bryant-Gray-Kolankowski-Neufeld-Hardrick to start the year, with Dobson as #6. Gray and Kolankowski both signed 2 year deals before 2022 and the other 3 are re-signed now I think.

Apparently this game is enough tmw. It probably changes the math a little bit on him returning to CFL, but with his relative success this year Im thinking he gets another NFL look next year somewhere.

I don’t know how much of a look he gets. His arm is still the shits. He would need a coach who wants to treat him like LaPo putting him in for a specific package of plays.

Once he gets his pension doesn’t he also get a higher min salary?

Re-signing Bryant was either going to happen or he would have retired.

I have him as the Bombers overall best player in this run. I would have voted him league MOP in 2019 if I had a vote.

CFL teams have active roster spots for 3 QBs by default. NFL teams usually run with 2 plus a Practice Roster guy.

That's why he has a better future in the CFL. Might as well have a player like Strev as your third string, unless you're developing a quality prospect.

I mean it's relative. Titans ran out several games this year with Malik Willis at QB after spending a 3rd round pick on him. Now that's a poor arm!

I dont think so on the salary issue. But im not super familiar with NFL CBA so i could be wrong.

Id be shocked if he doesnt get another camp though somewhere. Might even be with Jets. Jets are likelt ditching at least Wilson and Flacco. I could see the Jets running a QB1 of Garrapolo type with White Streveler as the 2/3's. Jets have clearly liked his attitude and determination.

Strev will get a starting chance in the CFL, IMO, if he comes back. I think the concerns with his arm are slightly overstated. I think he could be as good as say Kerry Joseph was in Sask.

Cut from Patriots with no PR offer, spent much of the year with Saints on PR, but never activated. While he does have another year he can spend bouncing around PRs before he becomes a "vet" for NFL PR purposes, I'd agree that he has a chance to come back next year. Wouldn't call it likely until August though.

As far as losses. I've seen a couple of Schoen workouts but he seems iffy for NFL shots. Based on the number of workouts, I'm thinking we lose 2022 2nd Rounder CB Tyrell Ford as a bunch of NFL teams have worked him out. He hadn't quite yet emerged as a starter here, but his speed and athleticism no doubt tempted NFL teams. As far as I can tell that's mostly the losses we might expect so far.

Think I heard that the Jets have already said Wilson will be back. But even so I think they’ll move on from Flacco (or he’ll retire) so there could be room for Strev.
 
If Streveler wants to be a starter the CFL or any other league not named NFL is his best bet, he is PR fodder at this point in the NFL

They've said that yes but I'm not sure how the Jets move forward with Wilson. Outplayed by Mike White and Chris Streveler, and widely reported that he is pretty much hated by teammates. Both sides for sure need a new start.

Streveler re-signed with Jets. On a futures deal so it really doesn't mean much but I could see Jets entering new league year with only Streveler under contract haha. Wilson traded day 1 of new league year, Flacco retires, White not re-signed. Obviously I'd expect Streveler to be no higher than QB4 when camp opens though.

No decision on Rourke yet. He had workouts through this week I think, so probably get his decision by the weekend.

Jamal Peters (Argos) signed with Falcons only CFL signed gone so far. Ford and Schoen did some NFL workouts well see if a contract comes from that (yesterday was day 1 for transfer window). Looks like Desjarlais is back as a FA. Not sure Bombers would have room, but he'd be a nice re-addition (probably prompting a Gray trade, IMO).

How long is the transfer window? I think if there’s a chance at Desjarlais, you gotta make room for him.

Good to see Peters out of here. Hopefully Rourke is next. Bad for the CFL, but good for the Bombers :nod:

Honestly I don't know (re:transfer window). I think it's most of January. It certainly closes before CFL FA starts around Valentines Day cause by that point CFL teams need clarity to start building their rosters.

I'd agree. If they could get Desjarlais back you take it. I'd think they could get a high 2nd or late 1st for Gray, IMO, if so I'd have no problem upgrading from Gray to Desjarlais+2nd.

But salary cap is gonna be tough to finagle again with so many future HoFers on the roster. Collaros, Bryant, Bighill, Jefferson are already locks with guys like Jeffcoat, Rose, Alexander, Thomas, Hardrick, Neufeld, Demski, Grant already looking at potentially being Bomber Hall of Fame guys and maybe one or two borderline CFL hall of fame guys on that 2nd list. That's not even mentioning guys like Oliveira, Wolitarsky, Wilson, Nichols, Sayles, Lawrence, Darby, etc vets that are still establishing their legacy or just looking for raises after stepping up last year. The Bombers will need a good capologist on staff again this year haha.

The 2021 or 2022 transfer window actually I guess ran from December 13 2021 to February 8, 2022 according to 3 Down Nation so if this years first day was yesterday then maybe sometime in March would be the end? Just a guess.
