Why should people be expected to pay $250 to watch a hockey game they could watch for free at home when they can’t even pay their bills? The real wonder is why any of these games are sellouts
The Jets flirt with winning a round or two every season. From at least those who I talk to, from an entertainment point of view that doesn’t mean much. They trot out the same team every season, we all know how it will end.
Going in the right direction, nothing to see here.True North sees bump in Winnipeg Jets season ticket sales
The Winnipeg Jets have started the 2024-25 season undefeated on the ice and have seen a bump in season ticket buyers off of it.winnipeg.ctvnews.ca
Flames had 16242 last night in a 18400 arena, oh no! Where is there thread?!?
Redwings had 17510 last game in a 19515 arena, oh no! Where is there thread?!?
Sabres had 16644 last game in a 19070 arena, oh no! Where is there thread?!?
Enough already.
It's absolutely tiring as f to keep reading some Canadians talk shit about Cali/southern US teams and their attendance with impunity. However I'm not that petty.
Winnipeg has a team, should have a team and it's hockey country. A few games doesn't change that.
That's funny because when the Jets beat the Leafs and they made some throw away chirp in the dressing room after about beating the Leafs, Leafs fans were salty about it for at least a year.Boston lives rent free in our heads. TBL pays a heavily subsidized rate. Why is Winnipeg in Leaf heads?
On topic, for the record I'm not at all concerned that the Jets in any kind of financial or re-locating risk from what I read, and all the best to them, would never want to seem them leave. Love the playoff white-out, doesn't get old.
Bro. It's very simple. The team started out with everyone and their dog racing to get season tickets and it was just your average middle class families for the most part (many of them shared). Very little in terms of corporate support. Contrast that with other big markets where at least half of the building is corporate.Jets were second in the Western Conference last year and have made the playoffs 4/5 past seasons. That shouldn't be a hard sell for fans, they're right there in it.
What happens when it's their turn to go through a Sens-style rebuild where they make 0/5 last playoffs? Ottawa averaged something like 30% more attendance than the Jets last year in spite of that.
Tickets are middle of the pack pricing for Canadian teams.
Maybe Winnipeg just can't support a modern NHL franchise, I don't think you can blame pricing or the team's performance for lack of attendance.
Maybe the audience doesn't like that the national anthem is sung in Punjabi these days

Bedard game: because 33,500 of our sports attending fans (and thousands more watching it on TV because it was sold out) were on the other side of the city watching a Bomber game hoping they would clinch the division. All of those teams would have been sold out and turning fans away if they had an arena the size of Winnipeg's. But Winnipeg couldn't sell out for a game against Connor Bedard or a division rival in Minnesota.
Fans of crappy on-ice teams trying to feel better about themselves by looking at a meaningless off-ice data point.Yeah I personally don't give a shit if they never sold out another game. My team too.
Why are people on here always so worried about the pocketbooks of the owners?
Winnipeg is one of the few places that know what it’s like to lose their team, and our fans largely don’t wish that pain on anyone else. Take this shit elsewhere, we’re not the lightning rod for other fanbases being awful to struggling markets.Love all the Canadien fans getting super defensive after shit talking American markets for attendance for years.
Why can’t you guys fill the barn? Must be time to move the franchise. Don’t deserve a team if nobody shows up. Just repeating the same things you guys say about USA teams.
Note that I don’t feel this way and am just pointing out how pathetic it is. And many of you are guilty of doing this. I’m also not talking about Arizona.
Because in many cases over if the owners pocketbook is bad over the long term, the team is gone.Yeah I personally don't give a shit if they never sold out another game. My team too.
