Most boring game of the season.

Easiest shutout of Gustavson's career.

Hutson was the only entertainment.

Minnesota was also down Erikson Ek and Zuckerello.. rofl

Well we are down Laine (and RHP?)

Matheson is good up and until you have to depend on him for anything.
He can give you the unexpected at times but not the expected.
That is a problem.

I think it's also a problem for his trade value.

Here
I agree. But I'm not sure it was too high this summer. I think it was either a late 1st or a 2nd.

But yeah, I guess both of those returns look good now. I just don't think it was a top 15 pick as some speculated.
I see it the same as you. He was never getting more value than this past summer. His 23-34 season was an anomaly stats wise and he “looked” flashy good at times. Some GM would’ve bit.

why would a non playoff team would have traded their first for Matheson?
TB, Edm, Tor, LV, Col all moved theirs already but all expect to make the PO.

That is a pie in the sky wish.

Kept it a close game and played better defensively against a very good team. The team simply lacks talent and another high pick is needed. If they play more defensive then they create f all offensively.. if they play more offensive their D and goaltending get eaten alive.

Some thoughts on the game:
- Dach looks like he has no confidence with the puck, put him lower in the lineup and off the first PP to regain confidence
- Hutson on first PP please
- Xhekaj looked better and kept his game simple
- I can’t wait until Dvorak/Armia are gone

I think we can beat Columbus & Utah. 2-2 over the next 4.
Doubt we beat Utah, they just handled Carolina easily and Carolina are light years ahead of us…

Columbus? Maybe. I was shocked they beat Buffalo to be honest so I suppose anything is possible.

I’m just so done with Marty Saint John hockey. No systems, no accountability for some and far too much for others, little to no development, toughness non existent.

It’s like being forced to listen to the opening theme for “Coronation Street” on repeat.

More than right now….
No one was going to trade for him in the summer. Someone would now.

The opening theme for Coronation Street is great.

Not a bad game but we don't do well against trapping teams. And it's going to be that way until our club is much more mature. It was completely boring... I think I fell asleep for about an hour.

This team needs to draft another stud impact forward. It is that bad.

Not to take anything away from him but Demidov alone won't turn the offense around.
