Prospect Info: Wings Prospect Discussion

They didn't sign him. He was just invited.
Well regardless it’s a good move which I think could lead to a signing. He’s played with Anton so maybe they’ll pair them together and he’ll have a good showing. Wouldn’t say no to a 6’6 kid

Maybe he’s someone we can use in the pipeline if we move buium/wallinder in a deal

I wrote an article on my prospect rankings with a decent amount of detail on my rationale for each prospect's ranking. Free to read, no paywall.

Great writeup once again! Cool to see snippets from that guy named OLP too :D

It’s a shame didn’t work out . Best friends with edvinsson if I recall ... would have given him a year deal with Grand Rapids for the hell of it to see what he does ... oh well

Hopefully his brother pans out , could have been a good story two brothers making the wings ... course we draft the brothers who can’t even play in the league 😂

Great write up. It was really well done and comprehensive.

What I take away though is the Wings have a deep prospect pool of mostly depth players. The goalies look good but their development is a bit unpredictable. So we are left with a top four defenseman and two possible top 6 forwards. If those two forwards pan out they are second line material most likely.

Danielson would be the most disappointing. 3rd line center with a top 10 pick isn’t that great.

So the Wings are missing an elite winger and a #1C to eventually replace Larkin.

Hopefully they can land those, plus another top 4 D in a trade or FA.

Rudy Guimond lost in o,t yesterday . 2 losses this year now. Bust

Scratch that it wasn’t him in nets lol . Looks like he’s still only with one loss

I loved the wings growing up until the lightning were created. I rooted for him as 1b until Datsyuk and zetterberg retired. Still my second favorite team. Are wings interested In Howard at all? Any rhd you could offer ? How are the prospects coming along. I haven't been following them much since the magician retired, but just root for them to win.

I like the idea of adding Howard but I don't think we're a good trade partner.

ASP is too rich.

Anton Johansson has been a notable riser in our farm. The team is quite high on him. I think we'd lean towards keeping him.

Outside of that Toumsito would be the next option but he looks like a career minor leaguer at this point.

What about Howard for Rasmussen? He is a third line center / lw eight ? Did he ever increase his physical play? We need bottom 6 guys with size. What jsnhis contract like?

Most of us are underwhelmed with Rasmussen. You'd think he'd be physical with his size, but he's really not. He's signed for $3.2 million for two more seasons and will be a UFA when that contract ends.

Do you think a deal could be worked around Howard for him + retention or sheary dump?
I think it's possible Detroit definitely needs more skill in the top 6. The org doesn't seem to be in any rush to move Rasmussen, but Yzerman has proven to be willing to make moves to improve the roster and Howard plays at MSU so they have likely had plenty of opportunities to scout him.

Kind of my thinking. Not trolling you guys either. I grew up loving both teams always dreamed of wings lightning final but then they made these awful conferences and divisions. I miss the old letsgowings lfg or something like that website the guy away that ran with the octopus. My interest in them disappeared when Datsyuk, zettwrberg, and the last core I followed retired and we became division opponents. Redqings versus Avalanche blood days were the best hockey rivalry ever .

Why are we talking about moving Rasmussen again? He’s a slightly overpaid 3rd/4th liner. I just do not get why you guys are always out to get him. Rasmussen of all people is not holding us back, there’s far worse issues with the roster than him.
Not sure how this is being out to get him. We're talking a hockey trade where we get the rights to a Hobey Baker award winning forward who may fit into our top 6. It's a hockey trade, not getting rid of Ras for the proverbial bag of pucks.

It's a hockey message board, not sure why the topic or convo should be off limits.
