Prospect Info: Wings Prospect Discussion

Buchelnikov's interview. His dream is to play in the NHL, but he's ready to play in the AHL as a start... I doubt he will if he keeps progressing at his current pace, though.

"I'm not afraid of the AHL. I'm ready to any challenges".

Looks like he's learning English too. Would be great if he came over next season.

March 23 is end of regular KHL season. Will Buchelnikov join GR? We also have Finie , most likely his team will not make it post season and he's already sign by Red Wings .
If Red Wings bring up Danielson, they should, we have openings in GR

Plante's season is over but had a great game. Finishes with 9G 19A in 23 games...ahead of Eiserman and Connelly fwiw. Obviously needs to get bigger, but can't ask for a better D +1 year.

He finished 2nd on his team in points but had the best ppg by a large margin. It will be interesting to see what a good offseason can do for him.

Hehe, Radulov moved to the CHL when Buch was 1 (one year old).

Their families know each others, but I doubt Buch and Radu are big friends. Age difference is too big, and they never played together.
lol ! my minds too far away from the nhl universe to have grasped that . the other russian i miss from that era is danny markov , another old time hockey player

If he can he should. Even if he doesn't get into a game, getting into a spot for everyone to get an up close look can make it easier to decide what to push him to do for next fall.

He's signed for one more year so I think it's next year. I doubt Vityaz will make playoffs next season, so if Detroit gets to the playoffs, there is a chance Buch will go for the cup with the team.

Some russian prospects have been leaving early though even with an extra year on their contracts left. With Buch coming to Detroit last offseason and everything, I wouldnt be shocked if he came over asap. Also wouldnt be shocked if he stayed, I just dont think the extra year means a whole lot with how things have went lately

I'm super hyped for Buch. We have been hoping for an influx of young talent. Buch, Danielson, Mazur, Cossa, MBN and ASP are all not too far off. This might be a really young and hopefully really good team soon.
Hockey db shows 19 year old Tarasenko had 38 points in 39 games 2011-2012 season. Buchelnikov numbers not as good as Tarasenko.
He had 47 points in 54 games. He switched teams for the final 15 games and so his stats are split between rows. It's also debatable whether 38 in 39 should be considered better than 53 in 63. Point per game isn't everything. Raw totals matter. Regardless of where you fall in the debate, we should be happy if we're comparing Buch to Tarasenko at all. Tank was a phenomenal scorer for a long time in the NHL. If Buch can have that kind of career, that's great.

Tarasenko was way more physically developped than his peers, he started to play in the KHL at 16. It's kinda similar to Panarin vs Tarasenko. Tarasenko was way more developped at younger age and came to the NHL earlier, but Panarin turned out to be the better player.

Panarin was not a good skater compared to Tarasenko and Kuznetsov .
